Yes, Virginia and Colorado are in play for Trump
October 29, 2020 | bort

I just posted shocking numbers out of North Carolina that show that white voters, and particularly white, working-class voters, are way over-performing in early voting. http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3899468/posts

Now check this out from Colorado and Virginia:

Colorado--

In 2016, per exit polls conducted by CNN, white voters cast 78% of all votes in Colorado. Breaking this 78% white vote down: whites with a college degree cast 45% of the total votes in 2016, while non-college whites cast 33% of Colorado votes.

In 2020, as of today, whites have cast 87%(!) of all the early votes. And this 87% broken down by education: 39% of white early voters have a college degree, while 48% are non-college educated.

In sum, in Colorado, the white share of the early vote electorate is currently 9 points higher than in 2016, and non-college educated whites went from being 8 points behind in voting in 2016 to 9 points ahead in 2020 early voting.

Virginia

In 2016, per CNN exit polling, 67% of all voters in VA were white. Broken down by education, college-educated whites were 38% of the VA electorate, while non-college whites were 29%.

In 2020, currently 78%(!) of the early vote electorate is white: 35.6% college-educated whites, 42.5%(!) non-college whites. Let that sink in: white, working-class voters are up from 29% in 2016 to 42.5% of the VA early vote electorate as it stands today.

In sum, the white vote in VA is way up, the white working-class vote is way up, while the college-educated white vote is down. That is good news for Trump and down-ballot races in CO and VA.

Folks, the polls are not picking up this surge of white voters, and especially the surge of working-class white voters. Yes, VA and Colorado are in play.

Not a stupid question.

When pinging a post, one is able to go back later and find it to read at his/her leisure.

Thanks for volunteering. There's obviously hatred in the suburbs but I try to stay away from there. Our here in the rural areas there is tremendous Trump enthusiasm. Unfortunately there's about the same amount of Biden infection that turns my county 60-40. The Biden people don't necessarily hate Trump. Many of them are simply stupid. They think Biden is a "friend of the working man".

Good stuff today Bort. This is even more amazing considering CO has 73% and VA has 58% of total 2016 turnout. That’s a metric ton of votes already in and for these ratios to persist in these 2 states is quite heartening.

Thanks. Am I missing something? It seems to me that the “Democrat deck” is stacked with a good chunk of working class, older whites that are more Trump-friendly, while not containing significant chunks of young voters and minorities. What are you seeing in Florida?

That’s cause you won’t allow the light in. No matter what is posted...you are just a little dark rain cloud.

The rays are there. You just refuse to see them.

Yep same as you. You are all over it. I’m looking now at the red counties and waiting for the yellow team (NPA) to pass the blue team. I believe a large swath of the WWC is not only on the red team but also in the NPA/Other category particularly in the red counties. Bay, Citrus, Charlotte, Martin, Clay, Marion, Pasco and Others.

I live in Virginia Beach and have never ever seen the number of people out voting as this election. The lines have been wrapping around the shopping center to vote plus there are long lines at curbside voting. I’m not sure what it means but this is unprecedented where I’m at. I am waiting until Election Day. The lines are too much.

I think making any estimates based solely on early voting #’s against other years is a mistake.

COVID has changed how people think about voting. I voted early, and I’ve never done that before.

Out in the hinterlands of Colorado it’s ALL Trump but in the Californian and New York infested hives it’s ‘Love Lives Here, We Believe in Science, Black Lives Matter, Water is Life’, etc.....

I voted in that election, with my wife and four adult children. Very few Republicans deigned to show up and handed the whole apparatus of state government over to the Democrats. Within weeks the Democrats started drafting anti-2a measures, abortion measures, illegal immigrants sanctuary zones, etc. I hope it woke up a lot of Republicans to see what hell Virginia would become under the Demoncrat party.

What was that old trope about giving it to them good and hard? Well the Democrats have been gibing it to Virginia good and hard.

Hello Carolina,

When I see a post that I want to read later or reference, I “post” with the word “ping” or “for later”.

When I have the time to read, I go to the top and tap on “Pings” located at the very top of the page. A record of all of your activity will be found there.

I hope that helps.

I watched a television clip as a college educated woman explained that she could just never vote for Trump. Now she said she was having to decide if she would vote at all since Biden it so unexciting.

A lot of libs and Blacks will just stay home.

Well, these are percentages, not numbers. Are you sure the increased percentage of whites is not a reflection of a lower turnout of blacks?

Did I hear the Fayetteville rally was postponed because of weather? Too bad, if so. It was blustery this morning, but I live 45 minutes from there and the weather, now, is fine.

I am fighting the good fight in college, again, right now. Math/Bio double major, pre med track. My prior college was computer science (MS). It’s much worse now than it was then.

US History I: Slavery, slavery, slavery!
US History II: Colonialism, colonialism, colonialism!

Every class has to pay homage to the AGW theology.

Whites are evil, especially men.

Right now I am taking Anthropology 101, Earth Science 101 and Atmospheric Science 101 (not the real course numbers). Filling in electives. This term is going to suck. It’s twice as much work to take the class and neither sell out nor out myself.

Aaaaannndddd the election is totally distracting me, LOL.
