He’s been working on it for a while. As with most everything government, it is a slow go.
It should have been completely stopped.
So make enforcement of that provision based on IRS Audit of both the employer and employee. You hire an H1B, and you will be guaranteed an IRS audit to ensure compensation compliance. By auditing both the employer and employee, the employers will not be able to do what you describe.
Ive encountered wholesale eliminations of 100s of STEM pros being eliminated as a whole block in favor of outsourcing. I have zero regard for the character of most corporate management. From my experience, Canada is in even worse shape than the USA in this regard.
For those that may have some cynical views of the timing or perhaps motivations of DJT re. this action at this time, this is taking on the deep state at its heart. The heart is $$$ and who controls and benefits from it. Were seeing I believe, DJT unleashed with the confidence of being able to cut this Gordian Knot.
Amazon is a well known sweat shop for many of the same reasons. I have heard that the average Amazon employee lasts 14 months. Burnout is high when you sacrifice quality of life.
Here is one article with a picture of him leading the revolt to try and change the convention rules so Trump could not capture the nomination. https://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/cuccinelli-convention-rules-225727
Now get rid of OPT.
Golden Words you speak. I completely agree and coincides with my experiences on the engineering side.
Even with a cooperative workforce publishing a regulation in the federal government can take years. Given the resistance to this it is good progress. Expect the usual lawsuits and 9th circuit injunctions to spread this out over the rest of his next term, however.
Fewer NEW trained Americans, yes - but there are currently millions of under- or unemployed STEM-trained Americans.
We CAN just end it.
You're a true American. God bless you!
Just like the number of illegal immigrants has been fixed at 11 million for decades.
I would support a 10-year moratorium on ALL immigration, for any reason. Perhaps 20 years.
One of the things TPP was supposed to do was to create yet another end run around immigration quotas. Foreign companies doing business here could bring in their people and it would not count against any quota. Not that we even know what the quotas are anyway.
I would too. Give society time to integrate those that are already here.
This is a great move if it is actually implemented and enforced by the globalist he has heading the visa program. It will end the low wage replacement gambit and ensuring that only those with actual high credentials and skills are brought in. THIS is how the program should have always been set up.
I hope youre right. I think most people do not appreciate the long-term poisonous effects of both training and educating nearly all foreign-born individuals instead of Americans. And that includes training and experience earned on the job.
Thanks a lot, PK.
President Trump still needs to commit to the following -
The Deplorables want a Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement bill, missing since 1986 ONE TIME amnesty. Since that amnesty was granted already, a second amnesty is off the table. What remains is the enforcement the Democrats have disallowed since then.
The List of Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement, missing since 1986 goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population);
7) Set up an illegal aliens victim restitution fund.
Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport, and remove colonizadors from our welfare rolls.
I think Donny can eliminate OPT by executive order.
Enforcement needs to be paid for. The employers should be paying for the enforcement, by way of fees paid to USCIS.
