The Trump administration has approved nearly $2.4 billion in arms sales to Taiwan just a week after a similarly large weapons package was greenlighted in a move that's sparked backlash from China.
The new package which the State Department notified Congress of on Monday includes up to 100 Boeing-made Harpoon Coastal Defense Systems and 400 Harpoon Block II Surface Launched Missiles, according to a notice from the Pentagon.
The sale will help Taiwan improve the security of the recipient and assist in maintaining political stability, military balance, economic and progress in the region through employing a highly reliable and effective system to counter or deter maritime aggressions, coastal blockades, and amphibious assaults, the Defense Department said.

Good.
Taiwan needs to weapon up now while Trump is in office, because God forbid Biden be elected, he’s owned by the CCP. Taiwan will be in a tough spot.
Giving Xi the finger.
Dear China,
Shove your virus up yer arse.
If Biden wins, Taiwan won’t be allowed to take delivery of any of this after January.
“The Big Guy” will see to it.
Fantastic News!
What are US Defense Firms selling to China anyway? hmmm

Industrial stocks dragged major indexes lower on Monday after China announced it will sanction US defense firms over planned weapons sales to Taiwan.
The announcement drove a sharp sell-off of the involved companies’ stocks that broadly pulled industrials into a hefty intraday loss. The corresponding S&P 500 sector sat 2.9% lower as of 12:50 p.m. ET, trailing only energy stocks in what’s poised to be the worst day for stocks in a month. Within the industrials sector, aerospace and defense stocks fell more than 3%.
Boeing fell as much as 4.4%. Raytheon and Lockheed Martin fell 4.3% and 3.2% at their respective intraday lows.
That’s a lot of Chicom shooters
Defense companies and lobbyists are worried that a top trade group may not be able to represent their interests to the Trump administration after the leader of the association recently endorsed the president’s 2020 rival.
Eric Fanning, CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association, said last week that he supports former Vice President Joe Biden, whom he believes can repair our eroded moral leadership around the world. Fanning, who was the first openly gay Army secretary and held a number of other top Pentagon positions in the Obama administration, also commended Biden for his leadership on repealing Dont Ask, Dont Tell, which allowed gay and lesbian troops to serve openly.

Biden Backer Former Lockheed Leader Convinces Joe Biden to Sell-Out

Records released by a former Biden family business partner reveal that Joe Biden’s brother and son proposed connecting a Chinese billionaire affiliated with Beijing’s military and intelligence services with top elected Democrats to advance Chinese investments in critical U.S. infrastructure. In doing so, say China experts, the former vice president and his family endangered U.S. national security. https://justthenews.com/accountability/political-ethics/biden-son-brother-pitched-us-infrastructure-deals-chinese
It is all coming together, we are just not looking at the next level on the chess board.
Biden, Hillary, Obama were so deep in bed with China ...
There’s consequences to that.
Trump knows that China can’t do anything about this, but they will huff and puff, and they may provoke a response, but I don’t think the Taiwanese people will sit back.
Awww that ought to get the chi-coms all Wei Wei’d up.
Well, that’s sure gonna piss off Xi. At almost every rally and even Trump strongly alludes the the fact that he’ll have his revenge on Xi for WuFlu.
I worked for Loral at the time that Lockheed mercifully bought us. Bernie got that “leader” slot as a part of the sale, but I don’t know how long he actually held it...we never really heard about him afterward.
Loral was a nightmare company to work for. Stingy benefits, and at one point Bernie *mandated* a 45-hour work week, even though most of us were already putting in more than that as unpaid overtime. We referred to our pay as being in “Bernie Bucks”, worth 8/9 of a dollar.
“there’s consequences to that”
Like what? Xi threatens retribution again? Yeh. He’s not going to do jack and Trump knows it.
