Looters ransacked stores in Philadelphia for a second night on Tuesday as Black Lives Matter protesters took to the streets of the city, as well as Washington DC and New York, following the deaths of two black men.

Walter Wallace, 27, was killed Monday when Philadelphia police officers fired after he approached them with a knife. His family had called for an ambulance to get him help with a mental health crisis, not for police intervention, their lawyer said Tuesday.

And Karon Hylton, 20, died Monday after crashing into a car while being chased on a Revel scooter by police in DC.

Pictures from both cities Tuesday showed continued unrest over the deaths. Trouble also flared in New York City, where a car was filmed driving into a line of cops. In Brooklyn storefronts were pictured smashed.

The “news” is that he had a history/record of violent crime and also had mental issues - that they seem to think the cops should have known so they could have maybe gave him a chance to stab a few before “subduing” him.
Maybe, if they had a trained social worker with cops on patrol and responding to crimes in-process, they could send the social worker in first to ascertain whether the perp is dangerous - if the social worker returns unscathed, they can use kinder-gentler means to control the suspect - if the worker is maimed or killed, they can call for another worker, to “be sure” the first one’s demise wasn’t a fluke, before taking the perp out.
