Public health officials in Southern California are warning that celebrations for the citys two new championship sports teams are spreading the coronavirus in several counties.
The Los Angeles Dodgers captured their first World Series title since 1988 on Tuesday night, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays, four games to two. That victory came just weeks after the Los Angeles Lakers won their first NBA championship in a decade.

It was once called “baseball fever” but that was before athletes decided the flag was just a dirty rag with no meaning whatsoever, and embraced the unamerican activities of the communist party.
I feel a pang of disgust every time I see something posted on Free Republic honoring these traitors to our country.

Amazing. Thousands celebrating sport teams’ championships spread the virus but thousands “protesting”, rioting and looting don’t.
I’ll confess that I knew the World Series was being played, but for the first time in my life I found I had no interest in it. Didn’t watch any games, was only vaguely aware of which teams were playing. Saw a post yesterday saying the Dodgers won. Meh, and I grew up a Dodgers fan in SoCal. I guess pro sports are truly dead to me.
What happens if a baseball team wins a championship and no one cares, does it still count?
