The media — and social media — drive to squelch information a menace no matter who wins election
New York Post ^ | October 27, 2020 | Matt Taibbi

Posted on 10/28/2020 5:43:42 AM PDT by billorites

The incredible decision by Twitter and Facebook to block access to a New York Post story about a cache of e-mails reportedly belonging to Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s son Hunter, with Twitter going so far to lock the 200-year-old newspaper out of its account for more than a week, continues to be a major underreported scandal.

The hypocrisy is mind-boggling. Imagine the reaction if that same set of facts involved The New York Times and any of its multitudinous unverifiable “exposés” from the last half-decade: from the similarly leaked “black ledger” story implicating Paul Manafort, to its later-debunked “repeated contacts with Russian intelligence” story, to its mountain of articles about the far more dubious Steele dossier.

The flow of information in the United States has become so politicized — bottlenecked by an increasingly brazen union of corporate press and tech platforms — that it’s become impossible for American audiences to see news about certain topics absent thickets of propagandistic contextualizing.

Try to look up anything about Burisma, Joe Biden or Hunter Biden in English, and you’re likely to be shown a pile of “fact-checks” and explainers ahead of the raw information.

As has been hinted at by several prominent journalists, controversies erupted within newsrooms across New York and Washington in the last week. Editors have been telling staffers that any effort to determine whether or not the Biden laptop material is true, or to ask the Biden campaign to confirm or deny the story, will either not be allowed or put through heightened fact-checking procedures.

On the other hand, if you want to assert without any evidence at all that the New York Post story is Russian interference, you can go straight into print.

Many people on the liberal side of the political aisle don’t have a problem with this

it’s a total disgrace.

a hack at The Atlantic can manufacture a blatantly false
“story” claiming President Trump called US war dead “suckers” and “losers”, and refused to attend a ceremony in their honor because his hair would get wet, and the entire world media carries it, and discusses it endlessly for days.

virtual silence on Bobulinski in Australia.
weak piece from Sky News Australia, no presenter, ending with Biden’s lie at the debate that it’s been investigated and it’s all a lie:

VIDEO: 4m: 28 Oct: Sky News Australia: Tony Bobulinski blasts Joe Biden for ‘blatantly lying’ over business deals with China
According to text messages obtained by Fox News, Mr Bobulinski messaged Hunter Biden to discuss a meeting in 2017 with Joe Biden.
It is not clear what transpired in the meeting, and the Biden campaign have denied any wrongdoing.

HUNTER BIDEN AUDIO TRANSCRIPT:
“I get calls from my father to tell me that The New York Times is calling but my old partner Eric, who literally has done me harm for I don’t know how long, is the one taking the calls because my father will not stop sending the calls to Eric. I have another New York Times reporter calling about my representation of Patrick Ho – the fucking spy chief of China who started the company that my partner, who is worth $323 billion, founded and is now missing. The richest man in the world is missing who was my partner. He was missing since I last saw him in his $58 million apartment inside a $4 billion deal to build the fucking largest fucking LNG port in the world. And I am receiving calls from the Southern District of New York from the U.S. Attorney himself. My best friend in business Devon has named me as a witness without telling me in a criminal case and my father, without telling me?”

The NY Post should break ranks and describe the telecom clowns in control of the news narrative.

real journalists are objective

very few real journalists these days ... especially at the big media places that scream the most about “democracy dying” and “freedom of the press”

the most major coverage outside US so far....Murdoch’s Times newspaper in the UK...and it’s behind a paywall:

28 Oct: UK Times: Tony Bobulinski: Hunter Biden’s former business partner claims he met Joe Biden twice
by David Charter, Washington
A former business partner of Hunter Biden claimed last night that he met twice with Joe Biden in connection with a Chinese business deal involving his son despite the former vice-president’s denial of any involvement.

Tony Bobulinski said that he was asked to head a deal between several partners including Hunter and Jim Biden, Joe Biden’s brother, with CEFC, a Chinese energy company. Mr Bobulinski told Fox News that Hunter Biden arranged for his father to meet him in May 2017 in Los Angeles while Joe Biden was there for a conference...

Come on. Anybody can say it if it doesn’t cost anything. Have them bet money and they’ll shut up.

I like the Post’s point that some on the right may be jumping to the most extreme position on this laptop. The truth is, we don’t know, and the MSM is simply not investigating it to find and report what’s up. So we are a bit justified in thinking the worst.

I have maintained all along that VP Biden was acting within his authority under President Obama to exert pressure on foreign governments in order to eliminate a reportedly corrupt Ukrainian prosecutor. The Executive Branch has pretty broad authority under the constitution to negotiate with foreign powers. You’d have to prove, in my opinion, that VP Biden did it primarily to help Hunter Biden and not because the prosecutor was corrupt.

A quid pro quo is not necessarily illegal or immoral unless it’s used primarily for personal gain. That’s why Trump didn’t do anything wrong in his Ukrainian call about Biden. Trump had probable cause to request Ukrainian help to investigate the potential corruption. That’s Trump’s job as our chief executive.

To me, the bigger story is the coverup. The MSM has picked sides in this, because they want Trump eliminated. An MSM that is willing to hide events that go against its political position is an MSM that cannot and should not ever be trusted again.

One last thing, just because the right thinks the worst of this Hunter laptop, it doesn’t mean the right isn’t right. It might truly be as bad as some think, but it looks like we are going to have a terrible time finding out the truth.

28 Oct: National Legal & Policy Center: BlackRock CEO Larry Fink To Be Biden’s Treasury Secretary Fresh Off China Partnership?
by Paul Chesser
BlackRock and CEO Larry Fink just got permission in August from regulators in China to start a mutual fund business there, a next step in the firm’s ever-expanding portfolio of investment activity with the communist nation.
At the same time there’s an election next week, and many expect Democrat Joe Biden to win. Fink’s name is often floated as his possible Treasury Secretary. He reportedly wanted the job in a Hillary Clinton administration, but then she lost.

Biden might like the China-enthusiast Fink for the role, since the former vice president was recently implicated as a potential beneficiary of investment in a scheme cooked up by his son Hunter and his business partners with now-bankrupt CEFC China Energy

Another business partner in Sinohawk, Tony Bobulinski, confirmed last week and on Fox News last night that “the big guy” referred to Joe Biden...
Fink likes Chinese partnerships too. While the newly permitted venture will be a “wholly-owned mutual fund business in Shanghai,” according to the Wall Street Journal, the communist regulators approved BlackRock’s mutual fund as “a joint venture with China Construction Bank Corp.” and a Singapore firm.

Another state-owned bank, CCB is the second largest in the world in terms of assets, with a market capitalization of $203.8 billion, according to Forbes. BlackRock is the world’s largest asset manager, handling $7.3 trillion. The deal between the two opens the market for BlackRock to manage investments for Chinese citizens – the firm has already done so for high-net-worth investors in the country for about 10 years, according to the Wall Street Journal. That operation is in conjunction with the Bank of China – the Hunter Biden investment partner mentioned above...

BlackRock’s Fink, who has moralized for years now about the need for “corporate social responsibility” by investing in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities, willfully ignores the corrupt, dictatorial, repressive and genocidal Chinese government. He has refused to divest from the 137 Chinese companies listed on American stock exchanges, as has been urged by National Legal and Policy Center. Revelations about the Communist Chinese Party’s abuses in Hong Kong, and of the Muslim minority Uighurs in Xinjiang, have not held back Fink’s ambitions...

And Fink’s new, communist-owned partner has its own shady past. CCB has a lengthy history of its leadership involved in bribery, graft, and money laundering – even earning an enforcement action in 2015 from the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank to clean up its act.
Sounds like a partner only a Biden could love. If Joe wins next week, maybe Fink’s similar affinities and ties with China will help him clinch the administration job.

Partner, you have hit the main problem in today's world and that is the MSM is not objective at all and they have their own views which land on the TV.

Look at the picture today and it is a disgrace what the MSM is doing to this country. President Trump is going out and getting so many people to attend the political rallies whereas Bunkered Biden's rallies are a complete joke and hardly anybody is attending his rallies and Kamala had a rally where only 12 people attended and this was last week.

The democrats do not realize yet that their cities in their states were destroyed by BLM and Antifa. They were burned down to the ground.

We can not get photos of the destruction caused by BLM and Antifa.

BLM and Antifa folks got their riots and looters into these cities and then they destroyed the buildings in the city.

Partner, luckily I have seen some photographs of the destruction caused by BLM and Antifa and it ain't a pretty site.

Partner, I forgot to add that "The Giant Sixth Grade Brain Journalists" are really just pretending and not acting like the real Journalists. Some folks will say that "Journalism is dead in this country" and this is the best definition I can find on Journalism today.
