Wild celebrations have been seen across Chile after the country voted to rid itself of its dictatorship-era constitution left behind by Augusto Pinochet's regime.
Chileans voted overwhelmingly in a landmark referendum on Sunday to replace the constitution, long seen as underpinning the nation's glaring economic and social inequalities.
The result sparked celebrations across the capital and other cities after voters threw out the constitution left by the regime of 1973-1990 dictator Augusto Pinochet.

People hope a new constitution would expand the role of the state in providing a welfare safety net, ensuring basic rights to health, education, water distribution and pensions.
Yeap a constitution filled with positive rights. That is the dream of Progressives in the US
Looks like a modern day pinochet is needed to keep chile from going red
We’ll see if they are still celebrating when they get the socialism they voted for.
Venezuelans aren’t.
Expect Argentina at best Venezuela at the wurst
Chile is one of the better countries in S. America. But, people are stupid and believe the socialist lie.
They are getting rid of it and we are adopting it.
Only in the MSM can a constitution establishing a democracy be called a dictation era document. Talk about sleazy spin
So, they went full communism. Another domino falls. We cannot allow Biden to win, or more will fall. The Endarkening threatens us all.
Boy, they’re going to miss Pinochet and his constitution.
“People hope a new constitution would expand the role of the state in providing a welfare safety net, ensuring basic rights to health, education, water distribution and pensions.”

Now Chile can be just like Venezuela. Morons.
Chileans now yearn for the poverty of socialism under Allende Time to disinvest from this country if one is invested after years of being South America’s first or second most advanced economy brought on by Pinochet.
The beginning of the end for Chile.
That’s what happened in Venezuela. It was all legal, but it started by changing the constitution. Allowing the president consecutive terms etc.
‘Approve’ campaign won by 78.28 percent to 21.72 with over 99 percent counted
Too bad Pinochet is no longer able to count the ballots.
Horrible decision. Everyone wants to be taken care of. Fine. They are about to get a solution that will spread the suck out equally. And everyone is going to pay for it.
I thought their private retirement accounts was something republicans were looking at to replace Social Security. Even DoD was looking at that model.
An old saying I recently made up: Socialism is like a three-layered drink. And you must drink it all. The top layer is sweet. The middle layer is sour. And the bottom layer is poisonous.
The Chileans will soon be drinking from that top layer. Smiles all around! But they should first talk to some Venezuelans. Those folks are now drinking from the bottom layer.
Uh oh are these the same people burning down churches
