Most of last night’s winds must have been from the East. My biggest pecan tree (Stuart) on the East side of my lawn has most of its nuts blown off ONTO my lawn. So all I got to do is use my reach and grab to pick them up and load them into my buckets.

I just rode my four wheeler into the woods and found a tall straight oak blown over and hung up in some other trees. Looks like an easy take down... (hung up trees can be killers). This is great as I was thinking of making a small pole barn to put some garden tools in. I can get at least 6 12 foot poles from it and the one it’s hung on.

The storm turned out to be very helpful.

Surf has calmed down a bit, but still double red flag. Blustery winds out of west, and seem dryer. Cold front has passed through, I think.

So far, I haven’t seen any tree damage outside (we have about a dozen yellow pines in the 70’+ range on the property, plus seven or eight fruit trees), but I’ve yet to venture out of the house today. Still, the contractors finished the chimney, so I have to go take a gander at it before dark.

What?! Another Tropical Threat Could Be On Tap Soon

"The strong easterly wind could block or prevent a tropical system from moving northward through the middle part of next week. However, if easterly surface winds and wind shear were to weaken, then a system move could move northward and possibly become a threat to the U.S"

So....I can’t use that as an excuse not to begin clean-up yet?

Ha! Your previous pile of yard salad needs fresh topping. You can plant a MAGA sign on top of the mountain.
