In Virginia you have to declare yourself Republican or Democrat, but you don’t have to vote that way. Unless they have counted who these people voted for, this doesn’t mean much. How many of those Democrat voters will switch over to Republican will be interesting to watch.
There’s an assumption that all Ds are for Biden. We do not know that.
I refuse to allow these Fake News reports to poison my mind, and have me give into despair!
A bit off topic (though not totally)...
Everyone needs to check out this video (11 minute video of on the street interview conducted by black Trump supporter—I promise you it will be very encouraging - Warning: Some foul language used):

“Currently black vote continues to fall, now to 20.55%. In 2016, when Zero won NC by a single point, he had over 23% of the black vote. So even allowing for blacks who are voting for Trump (say 12-15%), the black vote is already 3% down from the Zero high of 2012.”
Apparently the debate had a big impact on black voters.

Many registered Republicans in NC, switched to “non affiliated” in the decade prior to Trump, disgusted by the weak kneed Bush administration and poor performance of the GOP Congress under speakers Hastert, Boehner, and Ryan Others switched to “unaffiliated” due to concerns about retaliation in the workplace, particularly those working for the city, county, state, and federal government in the Democrat dominated urban areas. The unaffiliated former registered Republicans in NC will come out strong for Trump. I know quite a few who have already voted for Trump, Forrest for Governor, and held their noses to vote for the Rhino Tillis for Senate.
I assume he means 2008. 2008 Obama won NC - it went back to GOP in 2012 and remained there in 2016.
This can be misleading. Years ago I asked someone why so many people were registered as dimocrats in the NC county where I lived that looked like they would have better sense. I was told it was because of the local elections for sheriff in counties with large black populations. Why a sheriff position should be affiliated with a political party doesn’t seem right to me but that’s just the way it is. Before the ‘unaffiliated’ voter group, that can vote in either primary, was created people registered as dimocrats because the sheriff’s were always chosen in the primary. The sheriffs running had to run as dimocrats to get the black vote. I was told lots of these registered dimocrats voted republican in the general elections. There are still a lot of people, especially older voters, that don’t realize they don’t have to be dimocrats any longer in order to have a chance to vote for sheriffs. They simply don’t understand the ‘unaffiliated’ voter benefits.
The only way Rats can win is if they move the goalposts or if they're the ones counting the votes (as Stalin once mentioned).
This is what Soros money does.
Good news today
Here is an NC state analysis from Oct 21 by an odd twitter account that also publishes Japanese anime photos. They don’t attribute their analysis or reports to any organization. Maybe those with NC political knowledge can check out their conclusions and see if they make sense.

One shocking fact I didn’t know: In 2016, in a Dem+9.3 NC election environment, Trump won by 3.66%
I have a close friend in NC who has signed on as a poll watcher. They told me what the Trump people have done to keep a very close watch on the whole voting process and it is quite an organized plan that works within the rules and provides for any deviation to same to be addressed by recruited lawyers who can address whatever issues are involved. My husband and I voted in Ark the first day and we were impressed at the organization of the whole voting procedure. Our experience in Ark voting has always been reassuring as to legitimate within our precinct. Good to know that extra vigilance is being exercised where needed. I think that the Trump Republican party has the resources to pay for that extra vigilance which should help to keep the voter fraud squads off balance. At the least, those voters who are trying to game the system need to consider whether the risk is worth what they might not gain anyway.
