He said back on May 8th that the only people who need to wear masks are those who are infected. The virus had already been here for months by that time. In reality, if someone knows they are infected, they shouldn't be going outside among people anyway, so a mask shouldn't be necessary indoors. If they live with others, those people have already been exposed by the time the person was diagnosed with the virus, so masks wouldn't be necessary either.
The CDC reported that 85% of people who contracted the virus wore a mask all the time, and most of the time, so that right there tells you they don't work. And the tests that they've used from the beginning, aren't reliable. A friend's son had to be tested 3 times over a period of weeks before he tested positive. And personally, I'd question that positive result too. By the time the test result was received, he'd already exposed his family to the virus, but no one else came down with it, which makes we question the test even more.
Yes, it may. But it very well may not. There's no scientific proof at that masks help block Covid-19, or anything else, anywhere in existence. All these "scientists" flapping their gums just want you to think there is. But there's just as much evidence that masks may spread the disease, or cause other complications, etc. I realize you weren't really disagreeing, just wanted to add some more detail. Thanks.

What I want to know is who are all the people that are getting tested this is the only way there is a spike in cases is by the testing. Do people have symptoms or are they just getting tested?

We are neighbors to Oregon. Even if masks are mandatory in private, people are not wearing them. The close quarters in the fraternity houses at the U of W will cause big outbreaks that will filter out into the community. At the moment, 15 of the 45 houses on Greek Row have infected members. Once someone brings the coronavirus into a fraternity or sorority house, it can be hard to limit the spread: the students share bathrooms and kitchens, and about two thirds of the cases have been asymptomatic, which means that the virus can spread widely before anyone knows there’s a problem.
Proven they don’t work and actually help you get sick.
