13 more local businesses ordered to close for defying Gov. Pritzker’s orders

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Winnebago County Health Department has issued closure orders for 13 more locally owned businesses for remaining open or refusing to enforce face covering mandates, in defiance of Gov. JB Pritzker’s latest Region 1 COVID-19 restrictions.

The Filling Station in Rockford, Ace Hardware in Roscoe, Spring Garden Restaurant in Loves Park, Opsahl’s Tavern in Rockford, Neli’s Family Restaurant in South Beloit, Casey’s Pub in Loves Park, Potato Shak in Loves Park, Nora’s Place in South Beloit, Firehouse Pub in Roscoe, JJ’s Tavern in South Beloit, Rascal’s Bar and Grill in Loves Park, RBI’s in Rockford, and the Waffle Shop in Loves Park were issued Order of Closures.

They join Hoffman House in Rockford, Ref’s Bar and Grill in Durand, Baseball Tap in Cherry Valley, Golden Corral in Rockford, Latham Tap West in Rockford, Doc’s Diner in Loves Park, Neighbor’s Bar and Grill in Loves Park, and Fozzy’s Bar and Grill in Loves Park.

The DuPage Board pretty much told Governor Creosote to go jump in a lake. The Health Department was directed to do nothing unless a formal written complaint is filed. Then the business gets a visit and a written warning but there’s no civil penalty at all unless and until the Health Dept calls the local PD or County Sheriff.

The Sheriff has already said he’s not enforcing this garbage and most of the Police Chiefs have said the same thing.

Potato Shak in Loves Park...Hoffman House

Potato Shak is a GREAT place, and mostly take-out! What did they ever do to anybody?! The Hoffman House is one of the few places in Rockford that has pretensions of fine dining. Their prime rib is okay. They are also one of the few places that can handle special events. It is part of the Holiday Inn.

Illinois has gone crazy. All Rockford will have left are cannibis joints and Molly's Slots.
