UK: Minister at church targeted by man who tore down cross expresses sympathy for the vandal
OCT 23, 2020 3:00 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER
The Rev. Greg Thomas claimed that the vandal was merely suffering from a mental illness and made no mention of the incident being a possible religious hate crime.
Of course. For all too many people in the West, jihad simply doesnt exist. The idea that a Muslim might want to tear down a cross because Muslims think it wrong and blasphemous to assert that Jesus died on a cross (cf. Quran 4:157) doesnt exist for them. Most dont even know that Islam teaches that. So of course the Rev. Greg Thomas ascribes this incident to mental illness. That it may be, but there is a clear pattern on the part of authorities of ascribing what are clearly jihad attacks to mental illness. If this were an attack motivated by Islam, would British officials and the establishment media ever even tell us?
Reverend of Baptist Church Targeted by Man Who Tried to Tear Down Cross Expresses Sympathy for Vandal, by Paul Joseph Watson, Summit News, October 19, 2020:
After a man was caught on camera and subsequently arrested for trying to tear down a Christian cross from the roof of a Baptist church in east London, the Reverend of the church played down the incident, asserting the vandal was just mentally ill.
The shocking footage, which went viral on Twitter yesterday, shows a man of Middle Eastern appearance trying to pull down a large wooden cross from the roof of the Chadwell Heath Baptist Church in Romford .
However, instead of defending the faith, Rev. Greg Thomas, the minister of the church, responded to the incident on Facebook by asserting the vandal was merely suffering from a mental illness and made no mention of the incident being a possible religious hate crime.
Yes, the cross was vandalised, wrote the Reverend. However, when I caught him it became apparent very quickly that he was not at all mentally well.
The Reverend added that he was pleased the vandal didnt fall off the roof and hurt himself and that he will now be assessed and hopefully receive the help he requires.
It was frustrating to have the church vandalised but material things can be fixed with ease. Had he lost his life that would have been tragic, said the Reverend.
One wonders what the medias response would have been if a white man had attacked a mosque in east London.
Its extremely doubtful his actions would have been excused by merely labeling him mentally ill.
Mental health issues are the gateway for satanic possession by a demon or two.
The Rev Thomas is a walking advertisement for why the C of E is on the way to becoming part of the National Historical Trust and why Western culture is a hollow vessel waiting to be crushed.
I was in Mass a few months ago when a perfectly normal seeming girl started making weird noises and yelling to disrupt the Mass. The cops were called, and it was clear she was having mental issues, which was very sad.
But the specific things she was saying and doing were not just random crazy person talk. They seemed very focused on what was happening on the altar.
As in “The Exorcist?”
Sounds like a very intense experience that you had. Kind of frightening.
SPJNK.
What a moron. Next thing he’ll be tearing your head off your shoulders.
Wailing on this squirrel with a cricket bat, until his brains were all over the floor, is pretty much outside a C of E reverend's Prime Directive.
Strong, self-confident religions attract new followers. Weak, self-defensive, guilt-ridden religions lose followers. The Church of England is the latter.
Seems like this mercy thing does not apply equally to all. In the recent Pope Francis movie, he claimed President Trump was not a Christian because of the Wall (ignoring the pro life and other pro Christian issues he has supported). “Seamless garment argument”. Of course the same pope would state “who am I to judge?” when asked about homosexual activity. If you’re going to do the “who to judge?” thing do it for all. Of course if satan is controlling the narrative, no discussion is necessary. Deflect from Jesus and be a proponent for secular materialism. Ugh! God bless all FR.
A new low in western self-hatred and self-destruction of a culture that was responsible for all advances in science and human rights.
Some of Satan’s minions were in that church that day.
Given that the article makes it clear thrice that the Revd Thomas is a Baptist Church, not a Church of England minister, the relevance of the C of E to the story is not easy to see.
And Islam is the former.
One of these days white Western men, tired of living in a feminized society that devalues their accomplishments while blaming them for everything, are going to discover that Islam offers a pretty good deal and they're going to start converting.
All ready started up among black males. Although most no nothing of Islamic theology.
