Trump claims wind energy "kills all the birds." Cats and windows are actually much more to blame.

Cats never killed birds before 1970.

Shouldn’t be too hard for Trump to find photos of dead bird piles under windmills and tweet them.

Windmills kill big birds. Cranes, eagles, large hawks and owls are killed by Windmills. Cats and windows kill little birds. But the two Kestrels in my back yard kill about 4 birds a day.

We have about 500 whooping cranes and they will be doomed by a large expansion of turbines and power lines.

This is such a tired and absurd wind industry talking point! Name me the last time you saw a cat take out a golden/bald eagle, condor, falcon, Bicknell’s Thrush, whooping crane, passerine, loon, osprey or any of the important species beyond the common variety robin, sparrow, or pigeon. Turbines kill birds - period! Turbines are also the #1 or #2 sources of bat mortality depending on where the turbine is sited.
