Lawyers appointed by a federal judge to identify migrant families who were separated by the Trump administration say that they have yet to track down the parents of 545 children and that about two-thirds of those parents were deported to Central America without their children, according to a filing Tuesday from the American Civil Liberties Union.
The Trump administration instituted a "zero tolerance" policy in 2018 that separated migrant children and parents at the southern U.S. border. The administration later confirmed that it had actually begun separating families in 2017 along some parts of the border under a pilot program. The ACLU and other pro-bono law firms were tasked with finding the members of families separated during the pilot program.

Asked about the report, White House spokesperson Brian Morgenstern said, that many of the parents have declined to accept their children back...It's not for lack of effort on the administrations part."
Responding to the administrations statements, the ACLUs Gelernt said, First, we have not even found these 545 parents so neither we nor certainly the administration can know whether they want to be reunited.
Second, in the past there have certainly have been parents who have made the agonizing decision to leave the child in the U.S. because of the danger the child would face upon return. The humane and simple solution is for the Trump administration to allow the parents to return to the U.S. to reunite with their children but the administration is not allowing that.

The claim was made in a lawsuit by the ACLU (and promoted by NBC).
The fact is the Trump administration has tried to find the missing parents but the parents have declined to accept their children back.
Via Twitter, a DHS spokesperson said, This narrative has been dispelled. In the current litigation, for example, out of the parents of 485 children whom Plaintiffs counsel has been able to contact, they've yet to identify a single family that wants their child reunited with them in their country of origin.

As President Trump stated last night, I’m skeptical that many of these kids arrived with their biological parents in the first place. I suspect many are kidnapped children entering the abhorrent pedophilia pipeline.
It may be cold-hearted, but separating kids is a strong deterrent to illegal entry of families.
Notice how the issue of illegal immigration has disappeared from the news the past six months due to building the wall, ending catch and release, military on the border, and Mexico stepping up their enforcement and turning back the caravans.
This is so sad because it’s likely these children were sold by their parents to traffickers. The kids cant be reunited because the Cartels who bought them would exact revenge.
The ‘parents’ are not the parents.
As a clue, America no longer has ‘orphanages’, rather it has transitioned to foster care.
But take Mexico, it has large orphanages and no foster care.
Can you see what goes on here?
No, the humane and simple solution (for the American people!) would be to return the illegal alien children to their parents.
Which is why the ACLU is trying to re-write the narrative.
” The humane and simple solution is for the Trump administration to allow the parents to return to the U.S. to reunite with their children but the administration is not allowing that.”
Have the parents come to get their children and go home. What’s the big deal here?
Can they find a list of Angel Parents whose children were killed by illegal aliens?
The ACLU and media outlets pushing the ACLU narrative.
The parents, aren’t parents. And the real parents rented their kids out to illegals crossing the border. Take DNA tests. You will see they are not parents. These 500 kids are lucky. They don’t have to continually walk through the desert any more.
Who. Cares. About. Illegal. Children.
The lie that keeps on being regurgitated that Trump puts kids in cages and separates families. It is sick.
Don’t forget the human trafficking of children where the dna of the “parents” didn’t match their supposed children.
Amazing how that flared up and then vanished.
That is a strong argument for controlling the borders and building the border wall. Contrary to the Rat take on things, it is the humane thing to do.
There was “Operation Safety Net” (sex trafficking busts) here in Ohio which found 25 children. DNA tests were done that matched ones from the Border Patrol.
That’s because they were trafficked.
“Who built the cages, Joe?”
“Who built those cages, Joe?”
