The Morning Briefing: Trump Overcomes Horrid, Biased Moderator to KO Biden in 2nd Debate
PJ Media ^ | 23 Oct 2020 | Stephen Kruiser

Trump Levels Grandpa Gropes

Let me be clear about something up front here: last night’s debate wasn’t even close. President Trump won this thing in a rout, even though you won’t be finding that out from any mainstream media outlets.

I would once again remind you all that I am the resident pessimist and curmudgeon here at PJ Media when it comes to this election and the president’s chances, so it’s not as if I am simply offering some MAGA fan-boy stuff here. I thought Trump was awful in the first debate.

I also thought Biden was awful in the first debate too, just to clarify.

Trump had to overcome the same obstacle every Republican faces in these contests: a thoroughly biased moderator. Kristen Welker of NBC News is being lauded on social media and by her colleagues in the MSM for her performance. The nicest thing I can honestly say about her is that she was less awful than Chris Wallace.

Welker was continually interrupting the president. As the evening wore on, she became more shrill. Her voice took on that angry girlfriend tone that Savannah Guthrie used during the town hall event with President Trump last week.

When Biden spoke, however, Welker didn’t say a word.

Don’t hate me for this but I think it went better than expected even with her interruptions of the President. I think he still managed to get his points across. Couldn’t touch him with a ten foot pole when he was telling what he has done because it can’t be disproven......it was all true. I love this President!!!!

I noticed that Welker always asked Joe if he wanted to respond, and always tried to prevent President Trump from responding by trying to transition to the next segment.

Why do they use these biased moderators? I’ve not heard of any conservative moderators ever chosen to moderate these debates.

When Biden debates, his greatest weapon other than his complete disregard for the truth is that he interrupts constantly. He did that with Ryan. Trump knew what Biden does in debates and took that weapon away in the first debate.

Several times last night, Biden shot himself in the foot leg.

But that last one, "Yes," he wants us to transition from oil, the President was like a kid on Christmas morning when he heard that blunder.

Ten minutes of that was enough for me. It was obvious from Trump's demeanor he was going to clean house. Welker won't recognize it but she embarrassed herself.

when Bush and Gore ran for President, i think, maybe it was Bush and Kerry... but there was one debate where there was a panel of moderators... Brit Hume was on the panel... that is the only debate that i can remember where there was one moderator who did not show his bias... i just don't get why the Republicans put up with this time and time again... a moderator should make NO comments when the candidate answers... ask the question, give an answer... let the other candidate respond/rebut... now it's Candy Crowley times 10...

The debate commission always screws over republicans.

Do they get taxpayer funds?

Time to do away with them.

Biden lost the election last night when he ADMITTED that he wants to get rid of the oil industry. Does Hunter Biden’s laptop matter, obviously, but when it comes to actual jobs being lost, 11 million jobs if there is no more oil industry, that matters even more! And this is why President Trump did the right thing last night, he was calm and he let Biden TALK..because the more Biden TALKS, the more he hangs HIMSELF and that is what he did last night..put it into an ad for all the oil states and Trump wins

That is why, in a weird way, cutting off the mic actually benefited Trump last night..I know many hated the idea, I didnt, because it allowed Biden to talk, and for Biden the worst thing for him is to keep on yapping, because the more he yaps, the more stupid comes out of his trap

1. I think in order for change to happen, it has to be forced. Republicans have to be able to walk away and not accept the status quo of leftwing moderators.

2. All Republican candidates need to be removed from negotiations because every candidate has a big ego. They believe that they can win any debate, even with moderator bias.

3. Republican primary debates should be moderated by Republican moderators. No Democrat moderators. No exceptions.

4. Debates are about the voters NOT the candidates. We are the employers. The candidates are applying for a job.

I saw it, but I didn’t see it that way.
President Trump did well, but Joe was sharper than I have seen him in 15 years.
They had him juiced good.

I didn’t think it was that bad either. There were many lines Biden screwed up on,but there one line that that really stood out to me.President Trump got Biden to call Abraham Lincoln a RACIST!, and he repeated it a couple times. After Washington Lincoln is the second greatest president. He saved the Union from breaking up and freed the slaves.
