President Donald Trump knows the playbook, in part, because he basically wrote it: A flurry of stories, a stunt designed to rattle his opponent and an attempt to define his opponent based on family connections and dark allegations.
Trump stepped into the relatively calm conversation at Thursday night's presidential debate with a series of attacks on Joe Biden and his family, in what may be seen as a last-ditch attempt to turn around a campaign that's shaping up as a referendum on Trump's presidency.
"I don't make money from China, you do. I don't make money from Ukraine, you do," the president said. "They're like a vacuum cleaner. They're sucking up money every place he goes."
Biden then claimed it is Trump, not him, who has foreign sources of income.
"The guy who got in trouble in Ukraine was this guy," Biden said, speaking of Trump. "The only guy who's made money from China is this guy."
Trump hopes that his performance in the final debate will mark a pivot point in the campaign, making it a race between him and Biden, rather than a referendum on his own presidency.
Trump also sought to portray Biden as captive to the far left, saying that he would usher in "socialized medicine" and embrace environmental policies that would harm the economy.
But on that, Biden came back to the image he has cultivated for decades in public life and through a long-ago primary season where he avoided being pulled in notable progressive directions.
"He's a very confused guy. He thinks he's running against somebody else. He's running against Joe Biden," Biden said of Trump.
The second and final debate of this wild election season will be remembered for its contrast to the first. The interruptions were minimal, the name-calling was virtually gone.

The only one the moderator didn’t interrupt was Joe. Better than Chris Wallace but she still interrupted POTUS 111 times.
Contrast could not be clearer:

Very appropriate ABC is Disney I.e. FANTASY.
I live 2 hours from Orlando and haven’t patronized those parks for at least 30 years...and I wouldn’t go if I was offered round trip limo and free access. What did it for me was way back when they announced homosexual employees could add their “partners” to their medical coverage. At that point I realized Disney was not the company I grew up watching on Sunday nights.....none for me thanks.

....in the after-action analysis, or whatever it was called, did you notice Chris Wallace’s comment that “Biden is clearly ahead of Trump...” in the polls, I would imagine....
what polls is he refering to...? at this point, if I am not mistaken, most polls show Trump and Biden neck and neck, if not Trump now slightly ahead in some places...
Wallace was never on board with Trump...that was pretty clear from the get-go.....he isn’t half the journalist that his father was..........
Yes but Wallace’s reputation has been destroyed. Everyone thinks he is a hack now. One of the greatest of Trumps abilities is he exposes everyone and everything.
And ABC tries to outdo CNN and MSLSD.
Except that Faux keep bringing him on for commentary.

IMO the video/sound bites , the ones that will be circulated favor Biden.

I know that Fox News touts itself as being “fair and balanced” but I still have to puke when I heard Donna Brazile’s comment that the greatest president according to her was LBJ, because he signed into law the civil rights laws, etc.... Geeeshhhh... does it always have to come down to race...??

How could Trump have “written” this playbook when it’s the one being used against HIM since 2016?
As far as LBJ, he is responsible for the Vietnam War, which resulted in nearly 59,000 young Americans killed, and his War on Poverty, which caused the ruination of the black family.
I've also always felt he was involved in the assassination of JFK.
