PHOENIX Maricopa County has already surpassed its previous early voting record, with more than 900,000 early votes cast since October 7.
Thursday, 48 new vote centers opened across the valley, leading to more than 11,000 votes cast-in person in one day.
Maricopa County data show more Democrats have cast their ballots so far this election season than registered Republican voters. Nearly 324,000 Republicans have voted early to date, versus nearly 379,000 registered Democrats.
Another 225,000 voters have cast their ballots, including voters with no party affiliation.
More than 45% of voters on the permanent early voting list have returned their early ballots to date.
County election officials say their office has already signature verified and counted more than 837,000 ballots.
That number largely surpasses previous elections.
By this time in 2018, Maricopa County had counted nearly 487,000 ballots. In 2016, about 552,000.
I must be the only one who gets that.
Maricopa is my county and the population center of AZ, a swing state. I am among those that have already voted (in person).
Same here...red ticket all the way.
They'll find the vote I left hanging on their door.
Ditto
But the problem is, The Maricopa County Recorder is the one who counts the votes. He delivered the Senate seat to Sinema in 2018, along with a majority of House seats to the Dems. I know it was ballot harvesting, but no one did anything about it even though it is illegal in AZ. Will that happen in 2020? I have no doubt it will.
That’s true but this time, I think the college vote will be well below what it was four years ago. Thoughts?
I must be the only one who gets that.

No, I saw what Gasshog did there, too.
I just checked: Glen was a registered D who “voted Republican a few times”.
Just adding a little sauce.
Well done, Gass.
Hadnt thought of that. I dont know if you have seen my posts about Fontes judge shopping to get a friendly judge to decree that Fontes can continue offering video voting to those who cannot or are afraid to go vote. Ducey had said it was illegal and told them (Fontes and Hobbs) to stop. So Fontes didnt bother with AG Brnovich, he just found an Obama judge to ok the process.
Not good, it's an evenly split county REP 661,110 DEM: 669,630
As a HUGE Jimmy Webb fan, GREAT POST.
I kinda prefer Johnny Rivers version to Glen’s.
Can’t stand the guy and hope he is voted out but I am guessing enough people like him so that he keeps his job.
Thanks. You’ve probably seen JW’s duet with Linda Ronstadt on “All I Know,” but if not, check it out.
JW+piano covering his own songs.
Keeping my powder dry - I’ll be voting as we get closer, and in person. Anecdotal, but I know lots of conservatives that don’t trust the large mail sorting facilities, and will be walking it in or voting in person. Maricopa County is definitely suffering from an influx of CA,WA,OR, etc. but I think we’re far from tipping. Another factor is that Phoenix is decentralized - mostly suburban. While the city council is decidedly liberal, that seems to happen during off year elections. Not enough conservatives come out for those, while the inner urban areas are more activist in nature.
And I noticed Phoenix mayoral candidates were on the ballot as well.
You better also vote in person as well, at several polling places, like the rest of us
Biden looked at his watch at about that time. I think he was wondering how much longer his meds would hold.
Yep thats me, im checking that album out. THanks
