The Democrats started this back in the early 2000s with their over the top behavior. The Republicans did not respond in kind - they briefly considered the nuclear option, but the Democrats and the media went nuts about how this was extremist, unAmerican, etc. Republicans did not end up going through with it. Then the Democrats take control, and amazingly, they did exactly that very thing that was supposedly so evil. And that was it...there is no reason whatsoever to entertain them - the cooler heads they claim we should use they do not themselves possess - and they proved it. If the shoe were on the other foot, they would be doing this very thing now - and we know it based on their past actions.
