Karl Rove: Trump Campaign Should Focus On Economy, Not Hunter
Fox News ^ | October 21, 2020 | Talia Kaplan

Posted on 10/22/2020 8:29:48 AM PDT by White Lives Matter

With less than two weeks left before the 2020 presidential election, former White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove said it would be more “effective” for the Trump campaign to focus on the economy as opposed to the Hunter Biden “scandal.”

Rove made the statement on “America’s Newsroom” on Wednesday shortly after Trump 2020 Campaign National Press Secretary Hogan Gidley appeared on the program and explained the campaign strategy to focus on Hunter Biden and his international business dealings to attack Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

“The president isn't talking about Hunter Biden. What he is talking about is Joe Biden and what these emails now reveal is that Joe Biden is flatout corrupt,” Gidley said referencing the Hunter Biden emails reportedly revealing his foreign business dealings, including contacts in Ukraine and China.

Before FReepers dismiss this advice coming from Huckabee and Rove, we should all take a deep breath.

This is not bad advice - they are simply saying what everyone knows to be true: “It’s the economy stupid.”

The President should focus on his unique ability to grow the economy and keep us safe through America First policies. And how a Biden/Harris administration would cave in to the a Socialist wing of the Democrat party and sell us out to Red China.

Now, having said that, I don’t think it would hurt at all to mention - in that context - how the Biden family somehow amassed some 350 million dollars while Joe held public office, and how the FBI will be looking into it.

What the President should not focus on, is Hunter Biden’s drug and sex addiction problems. I know - because of his issues, Joe is a security risk - he is vulnerable to being blackmailed, etc.. That’s true, but making that case as a political strategy is very risky - if you are a Republican.

Drug and sex scandals don’t work on Democrats - Bill Clinton got caught fornicating in the Oval Office with a young intern - and lied about it under oath - and nobody cared. Think how much less people would have cared if it was not Bill Clinton, but his kid!

Joe Biden’s kid is a depraved crack addict and sexual deviant - if President Trump makes a big deal out of this, and Biden plays it right (and he will) he can have the public feeling sorry for him - and even giving him sympathy votes after tonight.

Karl, you magnificent ignorant bastard, Trump has to focus on Hunter because he would be a national security threat to our economy with his involvement with China.

Partner, "Karl Rove Is A Never Trumper and he is just P.O.ed since he was not selected by President Trump to help him out on Trump's Political Campaign.

Correction: Focus on the economy AND Joe’s corruption. Ignore Hunter’s misdeeds unless the implicate Joe. Get Hunter after the election.

No thanks, Architect.

Why focus on the Hunter scandal? Seniors will now break toward Trump.

Biden’s potential voters (who have not already voted) are _terrified_ of catching the coronavirus from election workers and other voters.

The Democrats have shot themselves in the foot—and the debate cannot energize them to “risk their lives” to vote.

The Democrats and their mass media propagandists have painted themselves into a corner—and they have fallen down—”help, help”, I can’t get up!”

“ It’s not about Hunter. It’s about the Uniparty selling us out to China.”

I agree.

What would be perfect, would be for the President to ask Joe Biden some questions:

Joe, how did you come to be worth some $350m while holding public office?

How much of that money came from Red China?

What did you promise the CCP in return?

What will the FBI find when they investigate this?

He could hammer Biden on this all night long without ever once mentioning Hunter Biden - and that night be wise.

I think the point Huckabee and Rove are making is that if Trump mentions a family member, it won’t score any points - obviously, Joe isn’t going to admit to any corruption. In fact, Joe’s predictable response will be “Leave my family’s personal lives out of this”

If Trump mentions Hunter’s name, Joe will score points, not Trump.

I have no doubt President Trump can handle multiple things at once. My concern is for the message from the campaign to Americans. The American people can handle a small number of things. In 2016 it was jobs, the wall, and China. And really all those related back to jobs. That message got hammered home in campaign ad after campaign stop after rally after interview. President Trump was on that singular focused message. Yes, he’d quickly mention something like Clinton’s emails or other items, but 90% of what he talked about was jobs, jobs, jobs.

Rove’s overall point about the focus is right. Voters have short attention spans and very limited focus. Outside of the political junkies, most people care about stuff going on in their own home. They didn’t care about green power, or men who wanted to pee in the ladies room, or any other nonsense that got brought up. How I’m going to keep a roof over my head and food on my table; that’s 90% of the election right there.

Sleepy Joe should now be referred to as Crooked Joe the Graft Machine.

POTUS Trump should tell him tonight he is worse than Nixon, since the DEMONcRATS still use the Nixon analogy to this day.

It isn’t about Hunter, it’s about Joe enabling him and then profiting on it.

As an aside, I will not be watching the so called Debate tonight. I will follow along on the FR Thread (thank you in advance to those here who will be watching an Posting).

I can’t afford to buy a new TV after I put my foot through mine. I also don’t want to scare the Neighbors with all my yelling at the TV before I break it.
