Karl Rove: Trump Campaign Should Focus On Economy, Not Hunter

With less than two weeks left before the 2020 presidential election, former White House deputy chief of staff Karl Rove said it would be more “effective” for the Trump campaign to focus on the economy as opposed to the Hunter Biden “scandal.”

Rove made the statement on “America’s Newsroom” on Wednesday shortly after Trump 2020 Campaign National Press Secretary Hogan Gidley appeared on the program and explained the campaign strategy to focus on Hunter Biden and his international business dealings to attack Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

“The president isn't talking about Hunter Biden. What he is talking about is Joe Biden and what these emails now reveal is that Joe Biden is flatout corrupt,” Gidley said referencing the Hunter Biden emails reportedly revealing his foreign business dealings, including contacts in Ukraine and China.

In the debate tonight I want to hear this from President Trump:

Joe you enabled and protected child sex exploitation in your family. You failed to report it to the authorities and thus allowing it to continue. Do not try and lie your way out of this since we have digital evidence of your behavior.

Secondly you exploited your power and position to reap financial benefits for you and your family which is illegal. You compromised your country with dealings in China. Do not attempt to lie about this either since we have evidence readily available for the public to see.

I call today for you to resign from you position as presidential candidate for the presidency of the United States, your actions are shameful and unfitting of the office of the Presidency,

The problem is that most people sitting at home don’t care about Hunter Biden. Most people probably couldn’t even tell you who that is. People care about the same things they’ve always cared about: keeping a roof over their heads and putting food on the table. President Trump broke down the “blue wall” because he spoke to the fears of all the blue collar workers in those states who were watching their jobs disappear and Clinton basically told them that they’re useless and hopeless. At the end of the day, very few other things really matter in an election. You’re never going to convince a hardcore Democrat who’s deep into politics to vote for President Trump. It’s a fool’s errand trying. The people you can pull to your side are the people who don’t live and breathe politics because they have more important things to worry about each day. Speak to those people about what really matters in their daily lives and win every time. Fail to do so and you’re rolling the dice.

I could not, and did not, say it better. At most it needs to be a lowercut jab. Mention how Biden used cronyism to make his son millions of dollars and tie it to Kamala and China. Could be done in one minute. Then spend the next 90 minutes talking taxes, safety, police and do not let the moderator get away with protecting Biden's weakspots.

The very least Trump should do is say “I’d like to give Joe Biden the opportunity to respond to the evidence of his corruption with Ukraine and China. (And he should say “China” in that special way he says it.”

Right now the Biden campaign is completely off balance and off message and it is mostly because of these new revelations. The public is not completely aware of the situation because it is being painted as a “Russian misinformation campaign and Google, Twitter, Facebook, and almost the entire MSM has been framing it this way. President Trump needs to keep the pressure on to keep these miscreants off balance and flailing away, and he needs to keep pointing out what he has done for the economy and the country.

The Bush's most prominent booster is not trying to help President Trump with his “advice”. And I doubt whether President Trump pays much attention to it. One of the beauties of President Trump is that finely choreographed political moves come off as completely spontaneous. And this drives the left insane.

All well and good, but a group of guys working at an HVAC plant in Wisconsin don’t care about any of that. They’ve got 15+ years ‘til retirement and they’re looking at their jobs being gone in 5 years or less.

They care that Bill and Mike lost their jobs last week, they might be next, they’re two payments behind on the mortgage, the bank is calling about the truck payments, and the fridge is looking pretty bare. You think a guy like that gives one single damn about Hunter freaking Biden? No! Tell him how you’re going to HELP him. Tell him how you’re going to secure his job so he can provide for his family. Tell him how you’re going to help him save his house. He didn’t break this economy and he didn’t ship his friends’ and relatives’ jobs overseas. He’s just a passenger sitting back watching all this happen.

Trump didn’t get to where he is by following Rove’s advice.

George W. Bush rode the train to oblivion by following it (i.e. don’t hit back aggressively at Democrat attacks).

Rove would have advised Trump to stay off of Twitter.

Trump took down the GOP Establishment and the Clinton Machine with a Twitter account.

My money is on Trump’s instincts.
