A sitting US senator who votes against his own party, and makes that announcement in a way meant to influence the election, should be subject to Article 1, Section 5, Clause 2 of the Constitution. 15 senators have been expelled so there is solid precedent for a referral to the Senate Ethics Committee for immediate action. Even drama queens should have to dance to their own music.
