Public defender Valerie Cole also asked a judge during a brief court hearing to consider lowering Matthew Dolloff's $500,000 bond so he could have a chance of being released from jail. Dolloff was charged with second-degree murder Monday.
Judge Shelley Gilman said she would leave a decision on bond to the judge who would be handling the case going forward.
Dolloff appeared by video from jail, where he has been held since shooting 49-year-old Lee Keltner on Oct. 10 while being paid by KUSA-TV to protect its staffers who were covering a Patriot Muster demonstration and a "BLM-Antifa Soup Drive counterprotest.
In court, he wore green scrubs and a surgical mask, answering Yes, your honor to questions from the judge about the legal process and his rights.
Video from bystanders, including the TV producer Dolloff was working with at the time, and photos from The Denver Post show Keltner who attended the Patriot Muster" rally, according to his family's attorney at first arguing with a Black man wearing a Black Guns Matter T-shirt before getting into an altercation with Dolloff. Cellphone video from the unnamed TV producer suggests Keltner was upset that the original argument was being recorded.
The video shows Keltner, holding a spray can, walking out of view. A mans voice its unclear if its Keltner is heard saying the area was no place for cameras.
Get the cameras out of here or Im going to f--- you up, the unidentified man says. Keltner and Dolloff are then shown scuffling before the video stops.
Photos from the Post show Dolloff pointing his gun at Keltner as he fires what police said was pepper spray at Dolloff before Keltner falls to the ground.

Get the cameras out of here or Im going to f-— you up,
That would most likely be anarchist/BLM talking. It’s how they roll.
From the social media posts I’ve seen:
* the security guard is far left, as are the reporters.
* the security guard was following and provoking the person who maced him
* the reporters were following the security guard around, so they knew about it and were likely involved in it
The reporters were probably manufacturing a photo-op or story, having the security guard aggravate someone until they reacted so they could present conservatives as the bullies. Then someone got killed, and they’re distancing themselves because it looks bad.

Dolloff, having reached for Keltner's weapon (or the spray) WAS INSTIGATING.
Keltner slapping away Dolloff's reach WAS self defense.
In fact the video shows that Keltner deployed the spray IN RESPONSE TO Dolloff drawing his weapon.
The video also shows Dolloff reaching for his weapon as Keltner is slapping him away.
Dolloff is guilty of Second Degree Murder.
NO bail. If he makes bail, he’s on the next flight to a non-extradition treaty country. Don’t think for a second that the left won’t try to spring one of their own.
This guy sounds like one of those loons who keeps trying to get on the police force but can’t pass the psych eval. so they go into private security as a substitute.
If Dolloff as a member of a team intent on creating an incidence, why couldn’t he be charged with first-degree murder?
He was instigating when he participated in a loud verbal arguement. Self defense as a defense for Dolloff ended there. If you start an argument, or persist in it, you’re responsible for the results. If he went there with the intention of a confrontation, i could see first degree, though it doesn’t much matter.
10% of $500m, Biden’s campaign staffers could raise that.
Colorado ping
Don’t know, I suspect he could though it adds the burden of establishing premeditation.
No one actually got maced. The spray was high and to the shooters right. In the immediate aftermath of the gunshot, only a few seconds after, the reporter, shooter and producer were all present and unaffected by the pepper spray. Note that while the shooter was being cuffed, the reporter said to the police (ACTUAL QUOTE) The guy on the ground was going to mace me. That was my security guy. He just protected my f*#^ing life.
No one got maced.
I don’t care who moved first. Pepper spray is not deadly force and the shooter was not justified in using deadly force to try to keep from being sprayed.
He has a public defender? A week ago he had a private lawyer. Wonder why the switch?
there were a couple of stills I haven’t seen since where it appears Dolloff’s going for Keltner’s gun.
Keltner then slaps Dolloff.
Can’t let the defense capture the narrative...
thanks... that’s about it...
I thought i saw a photo from the seconds leading up to that.
I don’t think a “self-defense” claim gets it.
Course, in this day and age...who knows.
thanks again
