I saw this in the Tucson Maga Hat Attempted Murder/Beating.
In Tucson the Democratic Socialist attacker had a pro-bono left-wing super-lawyer at first, then switched to Public Defender to make it look less political - the super-lawyer had huge ties to the DNC. The Public Defender might be a super lawyer himself as in the Tucson case but either way I'm sure there's a lot of normally expensive radical left-wing lawyers helping in the background.
