Some Triangle-area kids get fake text messages, letters asking them to register to vote. (And absentee ballot request forms)

Efforts to get your vote is in full force right now and even some kids who aren't even eligible to vote are being targeted.

ABC11 viewers reached out after their kids received a request to register to vote and absentee ballot request forms in the mail.

A 12-year-old boy in Cary, NC got a text message on his phone which states in part..."America needs your voice to be heard but NC records show that your voter registration may not be up to date...register now." The text message provides a link that directs him to the voter registration on the North Carolina DMV website.

Besides text messages, a Chapel Hill 12-year-old got a letter in the mail and inside a North Carolina absentee ballot request form, already filled out with his name and address on it. He just needs to fill out the rest, sign it and send it in, which the mailing including an envelope to the state Board of Elections.

None of these texts or mailings came from the state, in fact they were all sent by third parties not affiliated with the DMV or the NC BOE. It's not known how they are getting minors' contact information. The NC BOE said if the child or someone else would have filled out the form, the absentee ballot request would not be processed since they're not registered to vote.

But we're always told there is no evidence of wrong doing concerning mail in voting.

Why not set-up a sting and prosecute the source for fraudulent election practices?

But some children got a message for them TO register to vote. If they had done that, fraudulently, and then voted by the absentee ballot they received, it would have been counted.

This is just a couple that were discovered. How many more have been filled in and mailed, that we know nothing about?

And how many of them voted for Biden?

I’m not in NC, but our local NAACP led a registration drive targeted at the predominantly black HS in town, without ever mentioning the minimum age to be eligible to vote. Made me wonder what happened when underage HS kids showed up, did they get a signature and say, “Oh don’t worry, we’ll fill out the rest of that.”

My two sons got letters, each from Columbus and Cleveland area yesterday; letters said they are concerned about justice and freedom; light blue colored letters...urging them to vote.

Voter registrations should close before voting begins or absentee ballots start going out. Just have a single valid voter roll for the election and end this business of Democrats trying to change the playing field in the middle of every election with last-minute unverifiable voter registrations when the opposition turnout is too high.
