Retired Adm. William McRaven wrote an op-ed article Monday in The Wall Street Journal saying he held certain conservative viewpoints but also believed in ideas like "Black lives matter."
He wrote that he voted for the Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden, because "we need a president for all Americans, not just half of America."
McRaven has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, who he has accused of harming American values and tearing down US institutions.

This was mostly during the very risk-averse Clinton era, and while one might have expected them to lean towards being zero tolerance control freaks regarding management of their commands, this all too often spilled over into their personal politics as well, believing that the American people, like their soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, needed to be led with a firm hand, being told what was for their own good.
Of course, their post-retirement plans also hinged to a great degree on government largesse to the contractors and think tanks on which they were going to cash in.
They could have gotten bin Laden back in 2001. Remember what happened after the raid? We lost 30 odd Seals in an ambush on a CH-47. Don’t tell me that wasn’t a set up revenge action. I wonder if he was in charge of that operation?

They could have captured Bin Laden in 1996 when the Sudan offered him on a silver platter but Susan Rice and the State Department turned it down.

He was supposed to be National Security Advisor under Clinton. While commander at SOCOM, there was a required attendance event for Hilary Clinton at the base theatre.
On the flip, He was mostly respected as Socom commander. An old SF operator told me that McRavens changes to the seals was necessary, they were like frat boys with guns, no discipline and very low operational effectiveness.
Someone needs to look at how Retired Adm. William McRaven paid for his mansion on military pay... maybe he was selling out his country like Biden did...
