Still too hot, in Texas, for soup. Supposed to start cooling down, to low 80s - high 70s, next week 🤞🏻

i like hot soup year round. but I realize a lot of people only do hot soup with the weather is cool.

When I lived in Houston about every other day I put a small crock pot of soup on in AM for PM meal.

Had brunch at a local eatery and walked out to the parking lot and there were people with Trump signs facing the state highway. Asked what was happening and they said a Trump car rally. Just then someone in a pickup stopped and said the route was changed and the parade would join the highway at the next intersection. Everyone got in their pickups and moved to the other side of the next intersection. Just after that, police blocked the northbound highway lanes and the first police cars entered from the intersection.

Then came vehicles - cars, p/u’s, motorcycles, work trucks, even a few semi’s and one motor home. They picked up speed on the highway 25-30 mph and kept coming 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes and still they came. All waving Trump, US, NM flags, signs, placards, people and kids yelling from the vehicles and honking horns. A few police and sheriff cars came through in the passing lane with lights and sirens and speed heading north. Placards said Women for Trump, Veterans for Trump, Hispanics for Trump (and there were company vehicles with Hispanic names like Raminez).

Across the highway a few hundred yards away at the local event center, the parking lot was quite full and many people were standing outside. I thought about it for a moment then realized they were there to VOTE! Today is the first day of early voting and they got to see the parade while standing in line.

While talking with others while waiting, the car rally was across the county, 86 miles from Jal, NM to Tatum, NM, a distance of 86 miles. I don’t do any social media (where it was published), so I didn’t get the word. But I was fortunate to be at the right place and time to view and video the rally/parade.
