LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A federal judge on Wednesday ruled that absentee ballots in the presidential battleground state of North Carolina must have a witness signature, a boost for Republican groups seeking to enforce stricter rules on mail-in voting.
U.S. District Judge William Osteen in Greensboro issued an injunction essentially barring voters from being able to “fix” an absentee ballot they had already sent in if it lacked a third-party signature attesting that the voter, and not somebody else, signed the ballot.
The judge was reversing a previous directive by state officials that had allowed voters to remedy the lack of a witness signature by returning an affidavit verifying that it was their ballot.
In his written ruling, the judge allowed voters to fix smaller problems with their ballots, for example if a witness signature was in the wrong place.

The vote by mail fraud attempt seems to be backfiring in multiple ways.
Democrats didn’t focus on Get Out The Vote because they thought they had a better strategy. It’s going to hurt them.

It’s not clear to me how bad this is for them. It’s bad, but how bad?
Scenario #1: You screwed up your ballot, so your Vote By Mail is no good, so please show up on Nov 3 and cast a vote for Joe!
Scenario #2: I am real sure I filled out by Mail-in Ballot correctly, I’m sure that won’t trash it, so I’ll just stay home on Nov 3. I’ve done my part!
Scenario #3: People vote twice, once by mail and once in person — this seems largely out the window.
Scenario #4: Algorithms just make up lots of votes and say that they got mailed in. I think that’s also out the window because people are really paying attention at this point and the Judges are not turning a blind eye.
It’s quite possible that a lot of districts might flip just because the college students are staying home and not voting in the states where they normally attend school.
Is Madison, WI still blue if there are no college student votes? How about Raleigh, NC?
It should be reachable just look at electoral map from 2016.
IOW, two fake signatures cancel each other out so you have a true ballot.
I’m quite optimistic.
Actually one of my concerns has become the opposite — I see the Dem strategy backfiring in multiple ways, mail-in votes getting rejected, Dem voters scared to go to the polls, college students not being in college, etc.
And I see Biden and Harris campaigning horribly.
I think Trump could possibly win a massive landslide. And then the media will say, “That’s illegitimate. That’s impossible. The polls said Biden was leading.”
At this point, the Left may WANT a Trump landslide as their best option so that they can say “he cheated”.
Crazy times and I’m ready to entertain all sorts of ideas.
That better be a long coattail :)

There will be less ballot-harvesting at nursing homes and less ballot-harvesting at college voting parties like they have in Colorado (“ Bring your ballots! Beer and pizza for everyone!”).
