Even CEO Jack Dorsey says the response is “unacceptable”
Twitter has locked the accounts of anyone who shared the New York Post story regarding Joe Biden’s foreign lobbying scandal, including media organisations, reporters, celebrities, and even government officials.
The story, which has been met with denials from the Biden campaign, claims that Hunter Biden had introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive in a Ukrainian energy firm a year before Biden pressured the government of Ukraine to fire a prosecutor who was investigating the company.
After following Facebook’s crackdown, Twitter prevented anyone from sharing the “potentially harmful” story:

Now the company has gone one step further by LOCKING the accounts of anyone attempting to spread the information.
The NY Post’s primary account was locked:

Twitter’s actions have been labelled as election meddling and an ‘act of digital civil war’, as the company is not only locking accounts and preventing the spread of the information on its own platform, but discouraging anyone from reading the story in general:

The Hunter Biden story would have lasted 6-12 hours at most. Dude is a dirt bag, it's not kind of story that would have impact.
Big Tech's decision to cross the Rubicon for *that* story is far more interesting, relevant, and historically significant.

The NY Post story was a minor, largely redundant report even if the docs are real.
The extreme act of censorship by tech giants to suppress it, cheered on by journalists, is a major story of historic proportions.
They always had this undemocratic power; today they used it.

uh, how is this story insignificant? Selling US influence with foreign entities, some hostile, by the family of a POTUS candidate, and that candidate is definitely relevant to this election.

Now that they have locked Trump’s campaign account, shouldn’t this give them “standing” to appeal directly to the courts? With the election 3 weeks out, need to get an emergency injunction against twitter and FB.

The solution is to repeal section 230, and that is indeed the job of Congress.

The Trump campaign should get a judge to grant an immediate injunction against Twitter and Facebook to cease interfering in the election.
The “Biden Drops Out” theory would be plausible if there were any kind of semi-acceptable candidate waiting in the wings to replace him.

Whether you care about twitter or not, whether you have a twitter account or not, doesn’t matter. What matters is millions of swing voters, and naive republicans, get their news from twitter. Twitter, along with the other major social media, are implementing a massive misinformation campaign.
To clarify ... @Jack says that bad news for Biden must be censored but Twitter should do better at coming up with excuses for why they’re doing it.
The censoring makes the story bigger and more credible imho
