London — More European countries have decided to reimpose nationwide lockdown measures to counter fast-rising coronavirus infection rates. Northern Ireland announced Wednesday that it would become the first among the United Kingdom's four nations to try a so-called circuit breaker lockdown. The tactic will see pubs and restaurants closed for all but takeout service, all schools closed and many other businesses greatly restricted for a short, defined period to try and break the cycle of spiraling infections.
Israel became the first country globally to reimpose a nationwide lockdown to stem COVID-19 infections when it ordered much of the economy and all schools to close on September 18. The government has now extended the restrictions to last a full month, until October 18. Other countries are quickly following suit.

But I thought that the WHO recently criticized lockdowns.

Thus, 3 months ago, I KNEW that within 30 days of the election, the media and the Dems would be pushing and harping about a second wave. And here we are.
I'm no expert on infectious diseases but I have eyes. And a fully functioning bull$h!t detector. So, on this 2nd wave crud...I call BS. The timing is very suspect. And ALL the usual news outlets as well as local stations are trumpeting the same talking points and using the same language.
I emailed my AL state rep the other day to tell him there should be no third extension of the mask mandate. Not exactly civil disobedience but it is sending a signal at least.

I think the world leaders were told by their health officials that Wuhan/CCP virus is a very, very bad disease with the potential to wreak unbelievable havoc. To my knowledge, no leader has revealed what he or she was told. Now whether or not this is true, I confess, I do not know. The death rates don’t appear to be all that high—yet nations as politically different as Israel, France and the U.K. are reacting the same way to the new rounds of infections.
It’s important to realize that this is happening worldwide, not just here in the U.S. as a way to get rid of President Trump. (Although, if deliberately released by China, it might well be).
There was some disturbing news yesterday about people who recovered from Wuhan, getting it again with more severe symptoms. Maybe that’s an aspect of the virus, no apparent acquired immunity, that scared so many health officials. The virus is new, hence it’s name Novel Corona Virus, so nobody really what it is capable of. And no one apparently knows what letting it “burn through the population” would look like.
Please do not misunderstand my post. I’m not cowering at home in fear of this thing. Most who get it seem to recover. But people are still contracting the disease in my small town which is still pretty much open for business. Of course increased testing may account for the increase. And locals are dying, particularly older people who were quite possibly on the way out anyway, but who might still be alive but for this gift from China.
