China has warned it would take new measures in response to a planned U.S. arms sale to Taiwan, a self-ruling island claimed by Beijing, which also called out Washington partners India and Japan over territorial disputes across Asia.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian decried the sale of three advanced weapons systems to Taiwan. He called it a violation of the longstanding agreements by which Washington has foregone direct ties with Taipei in favor of Beijing.

"The United States has seriously violated the one-China principle, and the provisions of the three China-U.S. joint communiqués, especially the August 17 communique," Zhao said, "by selling arms to Taiwan, seriously interfered in China's internal affairs and seriously harmed China's sovereignty and security interests."

"China firmly opposes this," he warned, calling on the U.S. side "to fully recognize the very damaging nature of its arms sales to Taiwan, abide by the one-China principle and the provisions of the three China-U.S. joint communiqués, immediately cancel all arms sales plans to Taiwan, and stop arms sales to Taiwan and military ties between the United States and Taiwan."

China seems to be doing everything the Imperial Japanese did before Pearl Harbor.

the fourth member of the so-called “Quad” Is Australia, which does get a mention in the article:

- East China Sea issues also came up in conversation Monday between Kishi and his counterpart from Australia, the fourth member of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue that met last week in Tokyo. At the gathering, Pompeo said it was urgent that the U.S., Australia, India and Japan “collaborate to protect our people and partners from the CCP’s exploitation, corruption, and coercion.” -

12 Oct: BBC: How Australia-China relations have hit ‘lowest ebb in decades’
By Shaimaa Khalil
“The Australia-China relationship is unravelling at a pace that could not have been contemplated just six months ago,” academic James Laurenceson (director of the Australia-China Relations Institute at the University of Technology Sydney) wrote recently...

In 2018, Australia became the first country to publicly ban the Chinese tech giant Huawei from being involved in its 5G network, citing national security reasons. There have been numerous other flashpoints since...

The real trigger this year has been Australia calling for an investigation into the origins of Covid-19, which was first detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan...

Professor Laurenceson told the BBC that Beijing’s anger was directed not just at the political rhetoric but at Australia’s stance on the global balance of power.
“China is seeing that Australia is making its choice to line up with America in a geopolitical competition,” he said.
In late April, China’s ambassador to Canberra, Cheng Jingye, threatened that Chinese people could boycott Australian products...

13 Oct: ABC Australia: Federal Government looking into reports Chinese energy providers told to stop importing Australian coal
Prime Minister Scott Morrison said China does sometimes change its import demand based on how much coal it is receiving domestically...

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese said it did not seem like the Government was making any effort to have a positive and constructive relationship with China.
“[The reports are] a huge concern, but the Government needs to actually have a relationship with the nation which is the destination for, on Labor’s figures, around 48 per cent of our exports,” he said...

Earlier this year, China imposed import tariffs on Australian beef and barley as relations between the two countries hit a new low.

Well, we’re motivated by China wanting to seize all land
on that side of the planet. Nice try China...
Pathetic.

Not satisfied to have it’s current land mass and 1.4
billion people. They need a few million more and Taiwan.

I suspect in time we’ll see a Japanese style takeover of
other nations in the region. China just can’t help itself.

It’s thinking of changing from those junior shorts to
the calf length pants. It’s growing up now...

Sadly it’s still an immature nation acting out.

Even though Taiwan only has one serviceable submarine, I think it would be hilarious if they were suddenly to be equipped with say three dozen mini-submarines, each able to fire two US made MK-48 torpedoes.

Then when it looked like hostilities were imminent, they would move those mini-subs to where the PLA submarines were lurking, and all at once, the mainland would lose most of their boats.

And, of course, if there were any attractive military surface ships around, them too.

That is true, and I don’t think it is advantageous to China. Rising tensions all around their periphery. And Xi seems to have lost control of the dialog.

Sign a peace treaty with Taiwan. Full diplomatic relations. Endorse them foe membership with Nato.

Push China as hard as you can. They will never take the first shot. Run roughshod over them.

Don’t do anything rash. Just keep steadily moving more of the supply chain out of China. PPE and Antibiotics are now coming back to America from China. We are reopening the rare earths mines and processing facilities and pooling resources for rare earths with Canada, Australia, India and Japan.

Keep steadily ratcheting up the tariffs so as to force more and more of the supply chain out of China. That way, we don’t get hurt very badly if/when there is a confrontation and it becomes necessary to cut them off from the US Market....or even impose a naval blockade on them......

What does the globalist/Dem Deep State have left? Crashing the markets again like in ‘08? Still more voter and ballot fraud? Some sort of war dust up? This last one is tricky, since the country generally rallies behind the president with any sense of attack.

ANd it seems as if China is not lone-wolf rogue, but rather working in cooperation with the usual Marxist globalists.

Right. The Trump admin is hastening slowly to pull all critical manufacturing back from the vicious panda. No public recognition of our undeclared but smoldering war before its time.

I know it was a stretch to accept Turkey, but at least they're on an Atlantic sea. Taiwan is opposite side of the globe in the Pacific...?
