Sen. Collins confirms she will vote against Judge Coney-Barrett

PITTSFIELD (WGME) -- Senator Susan Collins says she will vote against Judge Amy Coney-Barrett being elected to the Supreme Court.

Sen. Collins releases statement on Supreme Court Vacancy "It's not a comment on her,” Collins said. “It is a comment on the process of rushing through a nomination in such a short time before a presidential election."

Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski also said she will be a no vote for the same reason.

To block the confirmation, two more senators would have to vote against Coney-Barrett, but Republicans have said they have the votes.

What a load.

I wouldn’t trust Romney. So if it comes down to 50-50, then Pence decides it?

She gets a bye for the tough race she is in in a Democrat state. They have enough Republican votes without her. Murkowski, who does not have an excuse will probably follow her in voting no or abstaining. Hopefully, a real Alaska Republican will primary her. Republicans will still have the votes without those two.

I just left her office a message...since you can’t get a live person.

I said, so much for ANY donation I was about to make, to you, for us to keep the Senate....she deserves to lose, if this is her flimsy excuse.

This ‘rushed process’ is law, you weak @$$ sister.

Yes but then it will be our obligation to dissolve the political bands that have held us together. Domestic style.

It’s always a pair. It used to be Collins and Snow. Now it’s Collins and Murkowski.

She might. Palin instead of Murkowski would be heavenly!

She MUST pay the price at the ballot box. I pray that Maine votes her out. If this is excused then more and more Repubs will jump ship when Libs never, ever turn on the party. They’ve been taught a lesson by their leadership.

Has Murkowski said she will not vote yes on Barrett?

It is stupid because Amy Cony Barret is a great judicial candidate. So Collins doesn’t really care about having a good judiciary as much as she cares about being labeled by the Left that she did something wrong in voting for ACB.

So be it Susan Collins.

Just another example of why single term limits should apply to all political positions.

No Suzie. You cannot split that issue and have it both ways. You have no standing to complain about process unless you were injured by failure to follow a process. By claiming you have no argument against Barrett and then say but I object because I didn't like the [actually legal and legitimate] process.

You are guilty of political pandering and I hope the voters of your state cast you into the pergatory you deserve. And maybe Trump should shift ship construction from Bath to Pascagoula. All's fair in politics, apparently.
