PITTSYLVANIA Co., Va. (WSET) -- A viewer in Pittsylvania County expressed concern on Monday when it came to the safety of a local drop-off ballot box.
The man said that around 4:15 p.m. on Monday, he was trying to drop off his absentee ballot at a box in Chatham, but found that the back compartment of the box was open.
In response, he immediately contacted the Chatham Police Department.
A member from the registrar's office also arrived on the scene to collect the two ballots that were inside the box from the responding police officers.
The citizen said that he was concern about how long the back of the box had been open, but Kelly Keesee, the Director of Elections for Pittsylvania County, said that it was only open for roughly a couple hours, as they had collected ballots earlier that day, something she says that they do every day.
However, she said that the concerned citizen ultimately made the right decision to call the police.
"If somebody does see something, then they need to let us know," Keesee said. "We haven't had this issue. This is not something we've ever had come about and I don't look for it to happen again in the future." Keesee said that if it makes voters feel more comfortable, they can come into the office to drop off their ballots, but must present their identification.
The registrar's office noticed that the back compartment on the ballot box hasn't been fully working and have put in a work order to get the problem fixed immediately.
They will also review surveillance footage from Saturday through Monday to ensure that the box was not tampered with.
The footage will also help them determine how the box was opened, as she said that there were no obvious signs of destruction.
Translation. Some government drone did not know or care that the lock on the ballot box was broken. His task was to set the box out. He set it out. Because, bureaucracy.

So. you can drop your ballot in an unsecured box somewhere, but if you drop it off in person you have to show ID. Right. That could almost be interpreted as a form of voter intimidation.
Do they send out a Republican and a Democrat to pick those ballots up? What happens with them between pick up and delivery?
Those boxes should not be emptied on the street. They should be swapped out with a new locked box and only opened and emptied into another secure place with witnesses from all parties present.
No mention of the eight Trump-Pence ballots that were tossed.
In my book they are both the same.

They arrested a 26 year-old mail carrier in my town for dumping mail (including blank ballots, which were mailed to everyone in NJ) in a neighboring town; federal charges coming.
There has been a real work slowdown by the USPS in my area for a few months now (not due to the Red Chinese virus, but starting more recently); it started before the election season but is certainly continuing into it. I don’t know why environmentalists don’t target junk mail; we could save a lot of trees and eliminate a lot of gubmint jobs without it.
Bow did they know the 2 ballots inside were for biden?
The drop off boxes are a Dim intentional fraud ploy - they maximize the chances of fraud.
What was the bogus excuse that was used to justify them???
