Without Isreali piloted F-35s, Israeli stealthy drones and on the ground Mossad operatives, Iran would be hard pressing and destabilizing the Saudi regime. The Saudi regime knows that Israel is the de facto guarantor of their existence.
As a politician once said in the early 1980s, “it’s time for Jews and Arabs to come together and resolve their differences in a true Christian spirit.”
The Saudis have actually been allies with Israel for a while. They just don’t want to make that knowledge public. Seemingly the people they are worried about keeping it from or their own public.

The obstacle is the King, he is definitely NOT on board with recognizing Israel. There are many other powerful Saudi’s, wahhabists and salafists that feel the same way.

Only the Kings death will allow movement towards peace. That will be very dicey as the powerful Saudi’s are rich already and see no gain by economic cooperation with Israel.

Agreed. Over the years, I’ve heard several anecdotal snippets where the Saudis and Israelis are on pretty good but low key terms.

And what did they get for so much more, we asked. The most expensive help, he said, came from the Philippines, India or Thailand. Moderately priced from Bangladesh or Pakistan. The cheapest were Palestinians.

The Saudi’s are rich alright - but Iranian leadership hates them...and war with Iran would take a lot of that 'rich' away.
Most Saudi’s absolutely revere their soil/sand, over flights by Israel are not threatening.

When our armor and vehicles were shipped out of Saudi Arabia after the Gulf Wars, our soldiers, on the docks where the loading was going on, had to wash all the Saudi sand off our vehicles......under the watchful eye of the Saudi’s who then went inside of our vehicles looking for every grain of sand they could find.

Prince Bandar helped to send money to the guys who flew went on to fly the planes into the twin towers. He is very high up in the Saudi pecking order. What he said recently must have been exactly what he was told to say.
