Trump, Barr at odds over slow pace of Durham investigation
Associated Press ^ | October 9, 2020 | Michael Balsamo, Zeke Miller and Eric Tucker

President Donald Trump is increasingly at odds with Attorney General William Barr over the status of the Justice Department’s investigation into the origin of the Russia probe, with the president increasingly critical about a lack of arrests and Barr frustrated by Trump’s public pronouncements about the case, according to people familiar with the matter.

Trump and his allies had high hopes for the investigation led by Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham, betting it would expose what they see as wrongdoing when the FBI opened a case into whether the Trump campaign was coordinating with Russia to sway the 2016 election. Trump has also pushed to tie prominent Obama administration officials to that effort as part of his campaign against Joe Biden, who was serving as vice president at the time.

But a year and a half into the investigation, and with less than one month until Election Day, there has been only one criminal case: a former FBI lawyer who pleaded guilty to altering a government email about a former Trump campaign adviser who was a target of secret FBI surveillance.

With time running out for pre-election action on the case, Trump is increasingly airing his dissatisfaction in tweets and television appearances. Barr, meanwhile, has privately expressed frustration over the public comments, according to a person familiar with his thinking. […]

This account is based on interviews with six people who have direct knowledge of Trump and Barr’s relationship. They were not authorized to speak publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. …

Barr is worried about prejudicing whatever criminal cases can be made. Trump is worried about re-election and doesn’t really care about criminal cases getting trashed, since these investigations will be ditched if Biden gets elected to office, anyway.

according to people familiar with the matter. = completely made-up crap.

But if I were Trump, I'd fire barr; And all the heads of every alphabet agency in government. But then again, mcconnell would never approve anyone that isn't deep state, much less allow Trump to make a recess appointment.

In a few weeks, this could all be academic for Barr. If Biden wins the election, he's out. Trump is right - crimes have been committed and there's a very good chance that the perpetrators will never be brought to justice.

Barr is on record saying what happens with the Investigation depends on who wins the Election.

I think there are many peeps that haven’t put that together. If Biden wins, it goes away faster than a greyhound chasing a rabbit.

That’s why Graham and the Swamp wanted it all to go past the Election.

Remember, old Lindsey said he wanted hearings on Joe and Hunter, but after Impeachment. And, as I said at time, that meant they would never come.

I think Trump is going to win despite the constant sh!tstorm of gas lighting. But if Biden won that ain't going to sit right. I don't think I can live with that and just let it slide. This would slowly gnaw at you and will be very corrosive. That would be too over the top. It is a tough time to be a patriot.

.
Stop with the excuses. They didn’t do anything when there wasn’t an imminent Election.

And Dems only made gains because Mueller kept up the Russian Hoax narrative during the mid-terms.

Barr has meant with Republican Senators and they don’t want anything done until after their Joe takes over.

They protect Biden, and then cash in after he’s elected (is the plan). The same thing Strzok and Comey had planned with Hillary.

Billy Bagpipes should segue out of office if he’s not going to seek justice.

I’m sorry but politically the president is mistaken. At this point he needs to be talking about Biden and the future, not Hillary Clinton and the past.

Yes, it’s all related. After Giuliani said he had evidence, Graham trashed his evidence without ever seeing it, and Graham said he was going to meet with Barr.

Barr and Trump have different interests and are naturally in tension. Yet there is reason to hope that Durham’s investigation is now focusing on the financing and direction of the coup effort against Trump. Illegal conduct in return for money provides the basis for a strong conspiracy case leading to convictions, with lesser targets induced to sing against principals in return for leniency.

Trump doesn’t need to talk about “it”. Just release all thr data and let that do the talking.

OK, so here is the dilemma in my thoughts:

1. Trump wins, short honeymoon on our part followed by CW2 with extreme prejudice against our homegrown communists after they riot in the streets (more than they do now).

OR

2. Bidet wins thru massive vote fraud and we skip the honeymoon - instead moving straight into CW2 with extreme prejudice.

Either way, our homegrown cancer is eliminated. I’d like to sincerely thank our Founding Fathers for their foresight and knowledge. This is still the best form of government that humankind has ever invented.

Remember, this is “according to people familiar with the matter”.

Notwithstanding, it’s always the left that wants us to forget the past.

You are skipping over the secession of state(s). Don’t skip that part. Red states break free of the blue states and install Trump as President. Preventing a war.

Trump is fighting the Swamp.

Take IG Horowitz, when he found out what Strzok was doing, why did he take it to Mueller?

If he wanted the Truth, he wouldn’t have alerted them.

Instead, phones and Computers were wiped, and stories were synchronized.

It’s all the Swamp versus Trump,
