I can see why the Supreme Court did this.

Roberts was afraid that he'd get reversed in the Northern District of California, the New Supreme Court.

ND California probably would have had one of their magistrate judges spank Roberts, instead of bothering one of the Article III district judges with this kind of light work.  winking face
