PHILADELPHIA - Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf is allowing larger crowds at indoor and outdoor events under guidance that's linked to the maximum capacity of venues.
The Democratic governor's new rules, announced Tuesday, will take effect on Friday. They employ a sliding scale that will permit much larger crowds at many events, including school sporting events during the fall season.

Because he needs to get a state goon squad to enforce his new edicts then ensure the so called news reports violators
“...Why friday? Do it now? Is the virus that smart it will hold off until friday or something?...”
Well, yes. Yes it is.
It’s the smartest virus ever known to man....
It can tell time, space, distance, night, day, race, etc. It read/write and count too! /s
It’s soooo smart that it is not natural...it’s lab produced.
Just like it knows if you go to a bar and dont get food. Only then do you die of COVID.
I was at a table in a restaurant and stood up without a mask and died from Covid.
These “capacity” rules are BS. Capacity rules are usually based on fire codes, size of building, number and size of exits, etc. Big box stores are hardly ever over 10% of capacity, where small stores and especially restaurants can often operate near capacity.
There are some stunning failures of basic arithmetic in these “guidelines”. The stepped scale means a 10000 seat arena can have 2000 people, but a 12000 seat arena must limit to 1200 people, and the maximum indoor limit of 3750? There aren’t any indoor arenas in PA that hold 37,000 people at once, so there’s no legitimate way to approach this number and five minutes of internet searching, or maybe a phone call to PEMA to ask for some data, would have revealed it.
The maximum outdoor capacity is garbage as well, Beaver stadium regularly holds 100k+, and nearly none of the college students who would attend games and possibly get sick with Covid if they were infected en masse have needed hospitalization thus far this school year. Nothing is based on hospital capacity, availability of ventilators, social distancing, it’s all being made up out of whole cloth by an incompetent bridge troll sitting in an office alone writing stuff down on paper with the practical effect of law by edict.
Venue management can’t make a profit at these levels of occupancy, I doubt they can even get close to breaking even with all of the overhead of a large venue. This just slows the bleeding of the losses a little bit, probably complicates insurance and assistance claims because they can’t say the state is keeping them closed, and turns their events, if held, into a public relations donation to the Wolf administration.
7,500 in Heinz Field? These guidelines are self-defeating. You know that large sections of the stadium will simply be roped-off so that the stadium can shut down concessions, restrooms and security to economize in those areas. So what will happen? 7,500 will be ‘concentrated’ into the better seats in the lower section (minus end-zone seats). Try maintaining your social distancing then, Governor!
I am not thankful or grateful. The fundamental problem here is a commie and a tranny making rules, not laws. It is tyranny. People can make their own decisions and be personally responsible. I am not going to take seriously anything coming from someone who willing cut off his penis.
Just ignore the Gruesome Twosome.
Go about your business and exercise the freedom that so many died to win for you.
MASK OFF!
It makes the one the 4th doctor encountered look like a moron.
That’s exactly what i have done and continue to do.
You are both trying to apply logic and common sense to a governor (and his gender confused sidekick) which have neither.
You’re right, of course. This isn’t about science or public safety. It’s a naked power grab designed to thrown the election. If it works I expect a series of declared emergencies with governors across the country making themselves tin-pot dictators like Herr Wolf has done.
Good for you, brother!
By our example we can encourage others to do the same.
