Leila Khaled, 76, is a member of the Palestinian Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PLFP), a group the U.S. Department of State designated a terrorist organization.

In 1969, Khaled and other PLFP members notoriously hijacked TWA Flight 840 bound for Tel Aviv, and a year later hijacked El Al flight 219 traveling from Amsterdam to New York City. She was arrested in London after the El Al flight was rerouted, but was later swapped in a prisoner exchange for civilian hostages taken by PFLP members in another hijacking.
Khaled was invited to speak at the university on Sept. 23 for a roundtable discussion titled, “Whose Narratives? Gender, Justice and Resistance.” The event is hosted by the university’s Arab and Muslim Ethnicities and Diasporas Studies program (AMED).
The invitation has outraged several Jewish groups, including the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
Seth Brysk, director of the ADL’s Central Pacific region, told the Jewish News of Northern California that while the ADL “respects and defends academic freedom,” the organization has questioned how the university’s decision will impact students.
“It is bitterly ironic that a notorious hijacker and convicted terrorist will be welcomed at an institution of higher learning where the free exchange of ideas ought to be paramount,” Brysk said. “An individual with a demonstrated commitment to violent extremism will undoubtedly discourage students from free expression and exploration.”

Simply another example why arresting terrorists is a bad idea.
A more important question, presuming she's actually speaking at the university, how did she get in the country? Do we have special visas for terrorists now? In fact, why isn't a hijacker on the no fly list. At least as pertains to the US.
How did this terrorist get to San Francisco University? She needs to be on a no-fly list and even outside of that, what airline let her on board? The airline that let her on board needs to be sued for putting the crew, other passengers, and others on the ground at risk.
Leila Khaled’s address is to be done via a video link. I can’t imagine Mike Pompeo’s State Department giving her a visa to enter the country.
Is she a US citizen? How did she get a visa?
No, I believe she’s Lebanese. Since the Brits released her after a short period of time in a hostage exchange, she was never convicted of anything. But she admits and is proud of the two hijackings. I suppose someone at State decided she should get a visa despite being an air hijacker.
That’s very possible, but the article isn’t clear. Zoom and Youtube have refused to stream it so maybe it’s being done elsewhere. I can’t imagine her getting a visa, but you never know.

I’ve looked at a few other articles, and they’re just not clear. They refer to her as a speaker or guest speaker, but also refer to a virtual event, YouTube, Facebook and Zoom have banned it, but with no indication if that’s being broadcast from a talk at SF State, or if they are hosting it remotely, from an unspecified site. I guess I’ll assume the latter, since I can’t imagine how we’d let her in the country.

I have also noticed that none of the biographical articles about her mention where she is living today. Although she has made appearances in Europe, one would think that she would be blacklisted from flying or from even traveling by ship.
I'm pretty sure it is, as are all other colleges in California.
