Good point. The key this time may be the biggest shy voter component in history. People are afraid of being canceled like never before. If they even look like a Trump fan for the pollster on the sidewalk they'll shortly be in their car surrounded by chanting, pounding BLM supporters. Uh....undecided. Please keep posting. Good stuff.

Please forgive me to posting my earlier reply to your name by mistake.
A Bidenish moment.
Without Democrat-disseminated conspiracy theories against wearing masks and about politicians eating babies (QAnon), we could win the election.
Bravo!
Agreed. I am actually mildly surprised Trump et al pulled out of Iowa. Not because I'm worried about them losing the Hawkeye State, but because of those three Dem House seats in districts Trump won. But there could be third party, RNC and/or NRCC money still going into the state. I hope so. These seats seem ripe for the pickin'.
BRAVO and oh so true this POTUS needs every damn one of us doing something to help win this thing!! FIND something and DO IT!!!
A good post that gives me hope after a bad day of poll data—I have one quibble, about what you wrote about third party candidates. I’ve read that third party candidates don’t really pull votes from Dems/GOP—if those third party candidates weren’t there, those voters would just not vote.
A few folks on other threads seemed like they needed a little drink of some “glass half full”.
There's some truth to that. But how does one really measure it? I personally as a military veteran will never pass up an opportunity to cast a ballot. Too many have paid in blood for our right to vote. But I will skip races, select third parties, or do write-ins. I'm generalizing here, but third-party candidates normally pull 1 or 2 points off the main races. In 2016 they were pulling twice or triple that. Why? IMHO because the only candidate less popular than Donald Trump was Hillary Clinton. I held my nose and voted for Trump, certain he would stab me in the back (especially with judges) given his Dem history and some of his previous statements. Happy to say I was very wrong. There are many, many others like me who have been won over the past 4 years. Some didn't hold their noses and vote Trump; they chose a 3rd party.
I do know that my son voted third party last time, in CA. He voted for the Libertarian. I don’t know who he is voting for this time, but I fear it’s not Trump and he’s unfortunately now living in NC. Hopefully he didn’t register to vote in time :) as he just moved there last month.
Coop, Interesting Times
Many thanks for the posts; does President Trump have Ohio and Iowa, and Texas?
Mr. Coop, this was cogent, ordered, and a perfect assessment of where I think we are.
No problem, FRiend.
Damned good job, writing this. I hope it goes the way you lay out.
No Republican wins the presidency without OH. DJT would have to be an absolute idiot to pull ad money from OH if he were behind or if Biden were anywhere within striking distance. The man is many things, but an idiot Pres. Trump is not.
Trump won TX by 9.4 points in 2016. Gary J. took another 3.2 points. The 2018 TX Senate race was indeed close, but Trump was not on the ballot. I think TX goes to DJT by ~10 points. Ask yourself, "How many visits to TX has Biden made?"
I think Iowa is in good shape. Trump doesn't need IA to win, but he doesn't want to throw away its votes either! IA borders MN and WI - both key states that Trump has been spending a lot of time and money on. Also Nebraska, where the Dems think they can steal an electoral vote.
Thanks, LS. Except I believe you’re more optimistic about NM and more pessimistic about VA. Which I understand.
