An NFL official told the teams not to worry over the league’s crashing TV ratings, and said that the election and COVID are the reasons for lower viewership.
Sports Business Journal recently reported that NFL media operations man, Brian Rolapp, sent a memo to all the teams to allay their fears over the consistently bad ratings. Rolapp reasoned that both presidential politics and coronavirus hysteria was naturally diverting the attention of fans and resulting in fewer viewers.
“The 2020 presidential election and other national news events are driving substantial consumption of cable news, taking meaningful share of audience from all other programming,” reporter John Ourand claimed that Rolapp told the teams. “Historically, NFL viewership has declined in each of the past six presidential elections.”

You would think that a bean counter somewhere in the NFL would be sounding the alarm bells by now.
Loss of revenue all across the board while they are contractually obliged to pay the millionaire players.
Insulting their paying customers is not a good business model. 5 years is a pipe dream. There will be bankruptcies all over the NFL in those 5 years. And a lot of out of work players, coaches and trainers.
Then they can all thank Kapernick and Goodell for their new careers.
The tv execs have ways to track who is watching what.
Their information might be interesting to the suits at the NFL.

For the first time since 1968 I have NOT watched an NFL game during a season and unless the NFL and players apologize it ain’t going to happen. Go woke. Go broke.
FWIW, I don’t care that the TV nets are doing their best not to show it.
