A powerful pro-life statement from the last person you'd expect
American Thinker ^ | 10/05/2020 | Monica Showalter

Around the same time a lot of us were feeling pretty raw at the news of President Trump's COVID diagnosis, another sad piece of news floated through on Twitter:

Driving home from the hospital with no baby. How can this be real. — chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) October 1, 2020

She had been pregnant and lost her baby to a miscarriage. Her short tweet was redolent of Ernest Hemingway's shortest short story:  "For sale: Baby shoes, never worn."

The tweeter, actress Chrissy Teigen, is otherwise arguably the most obnoxious celebrity in Hollywood. She's hates President Trump. She's radically left-wing. She said pretty much only offensive things. She hates those of us who support President Trump. And she's got a vocabulary like an overflowing toilet. She was last seen doubling her donation to the rioters' bailout fund on the pretext off something President Trump had said.

So it was striking to see this series of tweets:

No cuss words in it. Just honesty, a moving statement of sorrow for a lost baby whom she loved very much. Apparently, there's a good side of her she never reveals in her Hollywood persona. Her Instagram had this moving picture, obviously taken by a professional photographer and grayed to black and white, making its message more powerful:

I was actually hoping that they might make a statement. Miscarriages are tragic. It’s not just a bunch of cells.

We are sorry for her loss.

This should open her eyes to the fact that her opinion on abortion has been wrong all these years.

Sadly I suspect it will not.

Does anyone on Free Republic actually think she wrote those words herself? A professional photographer in the hospital to “document” their pain and grief, along with a very well written and worded paean to the loss?

Sorry, not buying it. This will make sure she gets more tweets from the woke crowd, and increase her net value.

I hope she thinks of this whenever the topic of abortion comes up.

I’m glad there’s a little bit of humanity left in her. It means there’s hope for her.

I feel sorry for her loss too.

That being said, I would tell her, if she wanted to hear it, that if you compare a baby to all those woke causes, that the baby vastly eclipses those other things. They are worth nothing more than the lining of a bird cage.

Powerful statement from someone who believes babies are only babies if they are wanted.

May God use this tragedy to draw them to Himself. May they receive both comfort and conviction from God’s Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name and for His glory, amen.

I find sometimes that people you would not expect are opposed to abortion. I have a friend who is a libertarian/conservative. He’s also an atheist. But he totally believes that abortion is murder. Some people are just hard to pigeonhole.

Nat Hentoff, who was a liberal atheist Jew, convinced me to become pro-life. Many paths one can take to come to that point of view.

I’m so sorry for her loss, it must be immense. Prayers for little Jack who went back to our Lord.

The message regarding the loss of their child was beautifully written and quite poignant. IMHO, it was written by their publicist. I know that business pretty well, and I would be surprised if I’m wrong. Also, the photos....those were arranged by the p.r. people. I find it quite pathetic. Poor baby, R.I.P.

I am sorry but regardless of politics this was a tragic loss to this FAMILY! G-d Bless all who hurt and they have my prayers. May they be blessed and may their views be changed but my prayers regardless.

The power of prayer is for us who pray as much as it is for whom we pray for! He came for us SINNERS!

“A powerful pro-life statement from the last person you’d expect”

I disagree with the headline.

It was powerful because she didn’t curse while talking about her dead baby?

She didn’t mention abortion at all. She didn’t mention any new attitude about “life”.

I’m sorry for the baby. At least he is in good hands now.

Publicist has her read what they wrote for her. She says “how did you know exactly how I feel? I could have written that myself” (trigger Jenifer Lawrence meme)

Can someone explain to me why this woman is famous? Why she is considered a supermodel?
Cindy Crawford is a supermodel. Tiegen looks like gum that someone stepped in.

These people are PHONY, PLASTIC people. I don’t give two bowel movements about these people!

I am sorry for the poor innocent baby, although he is in the arms of Jesus, now.

What a great man. He came and gave a talk at our Catholic young professionals' group in NYC. Great, funny speaker and a real gent.

He was absolutely fearless. A sincere believer in civil disobedience when it's a critical matter and the cause is just, he wrote some great columns in favor of Operation Rescue, and against the police and Clinton-era persecution of them. Decided not to vote for 0bama because of abortion. Consistent anti-Communist. Also opposed "speech codes." Imagine the looks they must have given him at the Village Voice every day.

When the hapless Voice finally ditched him after 50 years, he became a fellow at CATO and kept his column at the WSJ.

Tough guy to push around!
