Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) said President Donald Trump had “failed spectacularly” with his repose to the coronavirus pandemic on Sunday’s broadcast of CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Whitmer said, “We know Joe Biden has been tag this virus seriously and following the virus. The Trump administration, on the other hand, is not doing that.

How many more deaths in Detroit, which was hit hard, could have been prevented because of this ?
It sin’t over yet. Trump will most likely recover relatively quickly, thanks to the availability of effective treatments developed on his watch. Plus, didn’t he mostly make testing/treatment free for Covid patients? I seem to remember something about that.

The exact opposite is of course true - Biden blasted Trump's response as xenophobic and alarmist. He would have done nothing in the early stages to contain it. Pelosi, DeBlasio, and other Dems across the nation continued to encourage people to attend large, crowded gatherings. Whitmer herself and other Dem governors ordered COVID patients into nursing homes even though hospital beds were availabe.
But this narrative has been permeating for months without much competition.
Biden has not been in a position to do anything about COVID. How does know how if he would have been more successful? It’s easy to be an armchair quarterback.
I saw that New York state accounts for more than 10% of COVID deaths, but it does not have 10% of the country’s population. What’s up with that?
