Compare and contrast the amount of freedom enjoyed in 1960 with 2020, and what has been lost.
Professors are ultimately responsible for it all. They are exalted when the should be reviled.
I want every professor chased through the woods with dogs and shotguns, and dragged down a gravel road with a pickup truck, until they've been hunted into extinction.
a professor of hate
Be my guest.
This guy would look good with a .45 caliber third eye.
Well, that figures.
This cat has a lot of hate in his heart. Im sure hes never had a real job. And hes in my state.
Alaska could probably be persuaded to donate Kodiak Island to the project.
He imagines himself a komissar. Imagine his surprise when he gets his 9 grams kneeling beside the trench.
Writings are alarming.
Race has nothing to do with it.
Publicly funded institution needs to have a standard on and off campus.
Yes, that is a real problem- a stupid decision with terrible social consequences. But: Those who legitimately need a degree ought to have meaningful choices in obtaining it.
One additional area which needs addressing is accreditation. As long as the Left controls that, meaningful reform is impossible.
I’d also like to see more accountability from the universities on useless degrees. One thing that would help is publishing more statistics about the salaries of graduates from each university, both starting post-graduation salary, and 5-years-later salary.
Lastly, universities need to be on the hook for student loans. If their graduates can’t earn enough to pay back the loans, the graduate should be able to discharge the loan in bankruptcy, with the university eating the cost. Overnight, that would result in universities tightening up on who they admit (to exclude those who won’t make it), and what majors they offer (to exclude majors which do not prepare people for careers).
Currently, accreditation=cartel and that needs to change. Of what use is accreditation if it permits granting degrees in unscholarly nonsense? To this add grade inflation and absurdly high dropout rates as examples of fraudulent practices that accreditors ignore.
Real reform would make it easier to become a recognized accreditor (ending the industry monopoly), remove the antitrust exemption they now have, and divorce accreditation from eligibility for federal funds. Oh, and colleges need to report data to the ED so that it can produce statistical data in how their students fare by institution and degree program.
I think it was Jean Meslier who invented that quote. Diderot just took it from him.
On line backlash?
The communist son of a bitch needs to be drug behind a pick up through Texas till he is pink goo
That sounds like the things my husband says. :-)
Ah, yes, the peaceful, tolerant leftist professor.
Very good! It wasn’t the exact same wording, but you are correct.
I looked Meslier up on Wikipedia. He would be happy to join Antifa if he were alive today.
