President Trump has said numerous times that the Democrats are coming for your guns -- either they will scrap the Second Amendment or gut it of any content. Though some have claimed this is an exaggeration, dismissing it as mere pandering to his electoral base, this election cycle may be different.
One of the most significant signs of this is the Democrat Party platform and Joe Biden admitted in the first debate that he has given his stamp of approval on the 2020 platform.
Democrats and Republicans approach the Second Amendment from very different vantage points in their platforms. Republicans talk about the right to own firearms as a right that stands on its own and the discussion regarding the issue in their party platforms begins from that foundation. For example, in the 1980 Republican platform: “We believe the right of citizens to keep and bear arms must be preserved.” (emphasis added) In the 2000 Republican platform: “We defend the constitutional right to keep and bear arms, and we affirm the individual responsibility to safely use and store firearms.” And again in 2012: “We uphold the right of individuals to keep and bear arms, a right which antedated the Constitution and was solemnly confirmed by the Second Amendment. We acknowledge, support, and defend the law-abiding citizen's God-given right of self-defense.”
For the Democrats, the context is different. The discussion usually centers around gun violence and its effect on the American people. Within this discussion and the need to restrict access to guns in general and to ban specific types of guns, the Democrats mention that guns used for hunting or sporting purposes should be exempt from restrictions. For example, in the 1976 Democrat platform: “Handguns simplify and intensify violent crime.

I’m beginning to think that no person that votes for Dems should be given a carry license. /s
Biden, just like Hillary wants so called Assault Weapons Banned. He wants Beto O’Dork to be his confiscation Czar.
He also wants the Law changed so a Gun Manufacturer can be Sued of someone used their Product to kill or wound somebody.
Those are just his starting points. They are blatantly Unconstitutional but that won’t matter when they Pack the SCOTUS.
Biden and his DEMONcRAT buddies win and America as we know her is lost forever.
Time to go after Biden for his record, lack of accomplishment.
Never forget that Joe Biden’s signature gun legislation created the gun free school zones. Which after implementation saw the annual rate of school shootings / death rate ...... TRIPLE
IMO, it is not the right that is in issue, rather it is the government mandate to not infringe that is the subject to be addressed. Further, the right should not extend to individuals (who just may be in the country illegally) but rather only to citizens.

After getting two teamed at the first debate, I think this is where Trump should put his energy. Talk second amendment. Constantly.
They have been coming after our guns for many decades. Long before the 1968 GCA, DemocRats were restricting guns in large cities by banning the carrying of firearms.
Exactly. Democrats have always been intent on fooling the people.
At their core, they beleive they have the right and the ability to deceive enough people enough of the time to seize and keep power.
Republicans, on the other hand do not have that as part of their core beliefs.
Republicans, of course, will be tempted and often will use deceit to get what they want. But, at their core, they do not say it is just and right.
The primary difference, though, is the old, dominant, Progressive media will cover for Progressives, but not for Constitutionalists. This is very effective in keeping Constitutionalists honest and on their game.
Progressives, however have been protected for decades, so they keep thinking they can get away with outrageous lies.
