On the Proposal Not to Vaccinate the Aged for COVID-19
American Council on Science and Health ^ | 09/21/20 | Dr. Barbara Pfeffer Billauer

When we become evaluated by group/class, we lose our humanity

In making triage decisions involving allocation of scare resources, I suggest the approach needs to be holistic, encompassing ethical constructs legal principles, and public health practice. In more global terms, the question of who should be the first to receive the COVID-19 vaccine might be couched in terms of individual rights (including autonomy) versus a collaborative justice, doing “right” for society writ large. Bioethically speaking, I would prefer a more nuanced paradigm as articulated in the UNESCO Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights.

"For those who believe government health care is so grand..." ..."How much for a loaf of bread?” and the answer is “Same as always. 5c ... if we had any.”

And for those who wish ill for the Trumps....(Italian right-wing opposition leader Matteo Salvini) tweeted: “In Italy and in the world, whoever celebrates the illness of a man or of a woman, and who comes to wish the death of a neighbor, confirms what he is: An idiot without soul. A hug to Melania and Donald.″

socialized medicine:

young patients demand too much but get less quantity and lower quality care, and become dependent parasites

old patients are denied care and become helpless sacrificial victims

doctors get government controls and become overworked and underpaid useful idiot slaves

government must control rising costs by controlling doctors' fees, and doctors' treatments, and so becomes an uncaring cruel tyrannical monopoly

You left out the fact that the elderly fought against National Socialists and Soviet Socialists. They aren’t going to fall for today’s repackaged socialism.

The compromise is vaccine choice and an end to the lockdown. If you choose not to vaccinate and get COVID, you lose.

“When you design a weapon, you don’t develop one that will help an enemy and you’d target taking out the young & healthy (fighting age), not those who’re old or on their last legs.”

I would accept your premise....IF...the goal were to eliminate those who pose a physical threat.

We’re not talking physical threat. We talking fiscal resources and the elderly (over all) have the money. So that’s who you would target.

Still doesn’t work for me to take out those who are unable to fight back and leave those who can mostly untouched.

That’s even setting aside settling the problem of years - if not decades - of your enemy’s Social Security and Medicare costs within a relatively short time. All the whille POing a lot of ‘untouched’ people in the process.

On the other hand, you have the freaky and insidious nature of the virus which to me speaks of weaponization.

Oh, on that we both strongly agree. Point of fact, I would assume that 99% of those on this site would agree with you.

The remaining 1% would be the democrat trolls and RHINOs, who for the own earthly comfort would allow almost anything....

The deaths of the elderly, I am assuming is the brainchild of the democrats. They just decided to use it’s power of elimination of the elderly as an after thought.

I think Covid was actually designed to eliminate the young and after testing the original helpless folks in China’s prison camps, the Chinese meant to test it on their own people in a small area in China. When you have that many people in one country, it’s not like folks outside of China would notice a number of them getting ill. Right?

Except. Except, they lost control of the virus in its ability to hide and mutate. Not to mention the Chinese are extremely well known for their ‘it’s all about me,’ attitude. And those folks, really, really, REALLY believe in that theory.

So a good many of them scrambled out of the area and even lied to get on flights out of China to anywhere they could get. And that brought it to the rest of the world.

But as for the elderly. That, LouieFisk, I really do believe was an idea by democrat leadership in this country.

I’d like to know, personally, how many democrats lost parents/grandparents/elderly aunts and uncles and are themselves finally seeing how evil their party is at this time.

Then again, after the Nursing Homes and Death Taxes, we are talking about greedy youngsters.....

Or maybe it was something they were working on, not a “finished product” and with their awful security it got out into the world, hitting their own people as it went it’s merry way.
