Stop panicking!!
It shouldn’t.
Full steam ahead. The process has already snarfed.
From the last time she was a primary contact with someone who had tested positive. 14 days counting then another test for covid.
It might not be as long as you think.
She should be getting tested right now, right?
I’m sure she will get tested but you can bet Upchuck will demand the process be halted until there’s a cure for COVID-19 or at least till enough ballots are harvested to elect Sleepy Joe.
It shouldn’t! It’s up to the Senate to get going!
No reason why it should...at least none that *I* can see.
She should get tested. Last night was 5 days from Saturday’s nomination. So yeah, it’s possible Trump contracted it at the nomination. And she could have contracted it.
If she doesn’t have it, her confirmation won’t be slowed. Trump has already done his part.
Is she does have it, that would most likely slow her nomination. I wouldn’t recommend going through the hearings with even a mild covid because of the added stress.
I think Trump mentioned last Saturday that she was likely to be confirmed before the election but that there was plenty of time after the election to confirm her.
If they really thought they needed her in office to stop election shenanigans, the Senate could recess for a day, and Trump could appoint her as a recess appointment to SCOTUS. It would be effective until the end of the next senate session or she is confirmed whichever came first.
It would cause bad feelings and probably isn’t necessary. But it’s a possibility.
Full steam ahead. The process has already snarfed.
Thats pretty much what I do, hammer down when everything is snarfed. Pound square pegs into round holes.
After all, when all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.
In all seriousness, Trumps diagnosis makes the Barrett approval process easier. Its harder for the progressives to be nasty, and its a huge distraction.
Unless, of course, the Republicans go weak again.
Under the recess appointment option, Trump could even appoint someone else to fill the spot, until the Senate can confirm ACB.
That would put someone temporarily in position to address election questions.
But you want this confirmation this year. You don’t want it taking place under the new senate.
Senators can just vote-by-mail.
Given the mortality rate of the Wuhan virus, the Senate should honor Trump’s “dying wish” and confirm ACB immediately.
The virus will beg for a vaccine, to put it out of its misery.
LOVE IT!!
I second that sentiment!
The President’s role has been completed.
It doesn’t
