Auto insurance is based upon a number of factors:
AGE
Gender
Miles driven for commuting
Overall miles driven every year
HOWEVER-—The biggest factor is the DRIVING RECORD of the person asking for insurance.
Those records are available state to state, so being a jerk driver in one state can follow you to anywhere.
YOUNG MALES are shown by available statistics to have more accidents & gather more tickets of misbehavior behind the wheel than females.

This law is NOT based on facts. There are financial reasons for the disparity in price.
Since thise facts are ordered out of the marketplace, so must actuarial factors in insurance pricing. Among other things.
