I utterly disagree. When the first words out of Biden's mouth is a lie about Trump, under the rules of every deliberative body in the world, Trump has an immediate right to counter and defend himself and under most, the scurrilous jerk who puts about slander is sanctioned and denied a further forum.

Then for the so-called moderator to attempt to defend the lie, shut up the protestation about the lie and perpetrate his own lies, interrupting Trump all the time and Biden never is also against any defensible view of how "reasoned" debate is conducted and moderated.

Wallass (Haters always HATE) broke his own rules
and would not let the President defend himself
against FOX’s planned lies (Liars always LIE).

Wallass and FOX should NEVER be Allowed
to destroy another Debate. EVER.

Tell us again who was the first one to interrupt? YES it was JOKE Biden! Check the tape! I agree. IF YOU SLANDER the other person you have the right to STOP the perp from further accusation and slay it right there on the spot!

Just wonder, are Americans now do pathetic they will allow debates that are boring and censor the candidates to act the way some commission of liberals want?

This is their wet dream, to censor President Trump.

Time limits on answers, enforced by no mic are ok. Discretion for anyone to be able to cut a mic as he decides are not ok. In Tuesday’s debate, not only did Wallace interrupt Trump many more times than Wallace interrupted Biden, Wallace’s interruptions of Trump were to stop him from making a good point. Wallace’s interruptions of Biden were to stop Biden from making a mistake or to give Biden help on his answer. ... very different types of interruptions. I hope someone will analyze those differences.

pretty soon, if the left have their way, the debates are gonna be two candidates standing in sound proof booths, one talks, while the other’s microphone is cut off- then vise versa- (Remember the entertainment shows where they had sound proof glass booths that candidates went into?)

Then the moderator lost control,

He never had control. Biden started with the interruptions and Wall-ass continued. I saw one count as high as 75 times in a 90 minute period Wall-ass interrupted POTUS.

Since the debate Nazi rule makers plan on changing things for the next debate (if there is one), I hope Trump’s team will insist on a non-negotiable that each candidate will have 90 seconds to 2 minutes of opening statements.

Trump can list his successes and bring up the Biden corruption again, but more importantly Joe would have a VERY hard time talking uninterrupted for that long!

[[”Last night’s debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format ]]

Nonsense- when baseless charges are made, a person has a right to nip it in the bud and address the lies- it’s been this way sicne the dawn of time, but now that someone who can’t handle it is running they want to change the rules?

Is that how he will govern? Changing all the rules he can’t handle? This is how censoring of the press happens- (Not that the press would ever question him on hard issues- but you get the point, if he did get questions he didn’t like, he would simply ‘change the rules’ because he can’t handle the truth))

You don’t run for president if you are incapable of handling tough situations without throwing a hizzy fit, stomping your foot and demanding that the rules be changed-

Joe loves to pretend he’s a big tough guy from the burbs- (If My ears didn’t deceive me, He even insinuated he would take on trump physically the Trump during the debate- it was laughable) He’s a wimp- as he’s proven by ducking the media, hiding in his basement, and demanding that the rules be changed so that he doesn’t have to face the tough questions

[[I utterly disagree.]]

Ditto- here’s another valid point- the candidates will ignore all preceding points by the moderator when it’s their turn, their 2 minutes, to talk, because they will be taken up addressing all the lies told by biden in the very first question- then biden will reclaim the things he said- then trump will ignore the next moderator questions to address the lies again since he can’t address them AS biden makes them

It will be a massive crap fest- with the moderator getting all stompy foot over the candidates ignoring his following questions

PDJY should simply tell them NO and not respond in any way after that until they give up.

The moderators questions should be much briefer and more general. For example. “How do you stop the rioting in Portland?” No question should be over 20 words. The moderators should not be allowed to interrupt and interpret.

I believe I heard that Trump was interrupted something like 76 times & Biden 15. Under the ‘moderators control the mic’ rule, Trump’s microphone would be off the whole debate .... the next two moderators are as bad or worse as Wallass.

Trump’s campaign needs to say “no deal”.

Why can’t they just do it like the Nixon/Kennedy debate?

Of course there is one big difference, in that Nixon and Kennedy at the time weren’t the sitting President.

It’s a whole different dynamic. And sitting Presidents rarely do well the first debate. Reagan, in particular, had an awful night against Mondale.

Trump will never agree to that. The news outlets are interested in the ratings that these debates bring. I don’t think they will forgo the ratings for the ability to keep Trump from answering the lies thrown at him, so this won’t happen.

It's a highly unusual move for the CPD to change rules in the middle of the debates.

The Dems and their pawns are panicked.

They also need to do something about the “impartial moderators” always interrupting only Pres. Trump when he’s trying to answer, while Biden gets to finish his answers in full. It’s a sneaky trick those bastards love to use too often.

If the Debate Commission can’t guarantee that won’t happen ever again, Team Trump should just walk away.

(Reagan & Carter only had one debate)

In evaluating this claim, remember that it was Biden who first started the interruption game, and went in repeatedly.

How about this:

No “moderator”

Only one mike on at a time

Each guy has a button that transfers the active mike to the other guy.

Clock records cumulative time each mike is active.

When a guy’s time reaches half the total, his mike is off for good.

All of that is correct.

But in addition, muzzling the candidates and allowing them to say only what and when the moderator considers acceptable denies the public an opportunity to see what the real candidate looks like.

I have found the quet very well mannered who never speak without deliberation to be the most difficult to deal with simply because you have no idea what they truly believe.

Outbursts may be annoying but they almost always send signals.

The problem with the debates is not the rules....the problem is with moderators who do not measure up.

If there were a button to press that turns off the mikes, it surely would have been appropriate to turn off Chris Wallace's mike.
