NEW YORK (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Lesbian, gay and bisexual people are much more likely than straight people to get migraines, U.S. research showed on Monday, indicating sexual orientation may be a risk factor for the painful and disabling headaches.
Nearly one third of lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) participants experienced migraines, 58% more than did heterosexual participants, in a survey by the University of California - San Francisco (UCSF) published in the Journal of the American Medical Association Neurology.

Note that they didnt forget to include their little dig aimed at straight society, for bias that might have caused stresses which resulted in these health problems.
That’s what you get when you stick your head where it doesn’t belong.
Are these numbers adjusted for smoking prevalence? Smoking is correlated with migraines.
And they are much more likely to get hairballs.
Good point, Tax-chick. I read that homos smoke at rates up to 3 times that of the general population.
There might be other interesting biological or behavioral factors to consider. Another that crosses my mind is location - if the studied population is more urban than the general population, there could be pollution exposure that increases migraine risk. Drug use, sleep patterns, stress.
It’s irritating when a single fact is presented in this way, without more depth that might reveal something actually useful.
Isn’t fornication considered by the Bible to be an unnatural act?
God created sex for the NATURAL act between a married man and a married woman.
It’s not semantics. It’s the truth.
They should study fornicators and married folks to see who has more migraines.
And not all who are lgbtq act on it.
I don’t believe in co-partner rights or the rights that come with marriage, for them.
But it is stressful being very different than the majority and I would imagine stressful.
That could cause migraines.
I don’t justify acting on those impulses at all.
But I DO notice a lot on here that fornication is good for a few good ole’ boys jokes here whereas lbgtq are freak sinners.
And if they act on it, they are.
But fornicators are sinners just as much..
that means ANYONE HERE who slept with ONE person outside of marriage or after divorce.
What God has joined together let no man tear apart.
Its not immediately clear how the sample population was achieved. That might be nice to know.
This doesn’t begin to address the giant headache they’ve caused the rest of us, in dealing with all the “issues” pertaining to their abnormalities.

Headline reads like a joke or parody.
Can’t understand why this would afflict the most progressive among us.
In their sub-concious they realize this isn’t what they were made for or designed for - to have lesbian or gay sex. Rather than admitting it, it becomes “Not tonight dear, I have a headache.”
Excellent comments, dp0622.
One little definition: Fornication is an “immoral” or “illicit” sexual act, not between a married man and woman. Whether the behavior is also “unnatural” depends on the specific sexual act.
Sodomitic sexual acts - not in “the procreative form,” as the scholars say - are unnatural regardless of whether they involve people of the opposite sex, people of the same sex, married or not, etc.
(This is orthodox Christian moral doctrine, found in the textbooks, not something I’m making up in my own head.)
Fornication/adultery, etc., is immoral, not unnatural.
Living an unnatural lifestyle should give you a headache.
Migraines usually indicate something wrong going on in the brain so...
So...headaches are caused by giving head?

“....bias that might have caused stresses which resulted in these health problems.”
Bias vs Conscience
I’ll wager it is conscience. There are societies where a good conscience is considered inconvenient.
Migraines are often delayed reactions to stressful situations.
