How George H.W. Bush’s Supreme Court Nomination Cowardice Affected America

President George H.W. Bush had two nominees to the Supreme Court: Clarence Thomas, who has been ferociously principled and profoundly consequential, and David Souter, who during his time on the court traveled from being mildly conservative to becoming the leader of the court’s left wing.

Souter had served on the New Hampshire Supreme Court and was a Harvard graduate and a Rhodes scholar. He has a high intellect, but nothing in his judicial record demonstrated even a whit of conservative instincts. He had just been appointed and confirmed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, where he had spent mere weeks before being considered for the Supreme Court.

The same guy who had a 89 percent approval rating in February 1991 and screws it up.

John Sununu, Bush’s Chief of Staff, recommended Souter for the Supreme Court.

Imagine a world were the Bill Clinton was never elected president. The damage to the country and the world from that moment Clinton was elected is massive.

Souter was pushed along by Gov. Sununu.

Hear, hear!

If G.H.W. Bush had taken on, and taken out, Perot, he would have had a very good chance at a second term. And Clinton would have gone back to Arkansas and never been heard from again. We would never have had to suffer the consequences of Hillary, or the future consequences of Chelsea.

But for some reason, Bush laid back and ran one of the worst races in history, enabling Clinton to win with 43.5% of the vote.

George H.W. Bush’s Supreme Court Nomination

GHWB. That bastard ranks up there with Carter and Obama was one of the worst presidents ever, maybe tied with Johnson for third place.

the MSM created recession that mysteriously disappeared the day after the election was over had a little something to do with the loss — as did all the fools that fell for ross pee-rot’s brand of snake oil.

George H.W. Bush allowed himself to assist in ushering in the “last days” with his infamous “New World Order”. Thanks George.

Souter had served on the New Hampshire Supreme Court and was a Harvard graduate and a Rhodes scholar.

Selecting these Harvard and Yale graduates, who come from the most privileged families and grow up in elite private schools is a big part of the problem. They have no idea who Americans are.

Imagine a world were the Bill Clinton was never elected president.
Thing is, that’s true of most or all Democrat presidents, and some of the Republicans haven’t been “all that” either.

Harvard graduate and a Rhodes scholar

Two huge red flags.

Not to mention their SCOTUS nominees.

From 1988 right thru 2012 the Republican nominees for POTUS ranged from “disappointing" down to “miserable."

Imagine a world were the Bill Clinton was never elected president.

To do that, you'd have to imagine a world in which Ronald Reagan chose a more conservative man to be his running mate in 1980. Bush I led to Clinton led to Bush II. A stronger, more principled conservative paired with Reagan could have the US in a much different position in 2020.

Yep. Sununu is a fraud. The last person to testify at the Souter Senate hearings was Howard Philipps, one of the founders of the US Taxpayer Party (now the Constitution Party). He was the only conservative to testify against Souter. He pointed out that Souter had been on the governing Board of some hospital in New Hampshire and that he had voted to permit abortions to be performed there.

There has not been one true conservative to run for the Presidency since Ronald Reagan (and his conservative instincts were watered down by his (b)itch wife).

Secure borders and laws enforced on illegal aliens.

No 30+ million fraudulently documented foreigners.
