A surprise sequel to the hit 2006 comedy Borat from Sacha Baron Cohen is set to debut on Amazon Prime Video prior to Election Day, Deadline reports.
Collider previously reported that a Borat sequel had already been filmed, although it wasn't clear at the time when it might be released. The plot of the sequel, Collider reported, involves Baron Cohen's character of Borat going undercover to conduct interviews after the original film made him famous, and The Film Stage also reported that "Trump and Epstein's relationship, as well as the coronavirus, all figure into the main narrative with cameos from Mike Pence, Rudy Giuliani, and more best left unspoiled." Additionally, The Film Stage reports that "one of the yet-to-be-revealed cameos could potentially derail a political career."

The film, which according to The Film Stage appears to be titled Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan, is expected to debut in late October.

My thoughts, exactly.
Big $$$ Mulan and Tenent tanked; Black Widow (and a whole bunch more) delayed until 2021.
And this movie is going to somehow even get noticed? Sure.
(I’m sure the President of Kazakhstan will be amused as well...again.)
Nope. IIRC, Cohen was initially involved in the Queen/Freddie Mercury biopic, and was the frontrunner to play Mercury. But the band wanted it to tell the story of the band’s initial formation, and culminate with that Live Aid performance in ‘85 (which was incredible). Cohen wanted it to dive into Mercury’s sleazier personal life, the gay parties, all that, and culminate with Mercury contracting AIDS and dying. The band said no thanks, and walked away from the project. It took a few years to get it back off the ground. Cohen has yet to make me laugh even once. He’s an obnoxious boor.
Wonder who got tricked?
I watched part of “Borat”. It’s a testimonial to the basic charity and good manners of the Brits that he didn’t get his @$$ beat a dozen times while filming that dreck.
How Will Ferrell and this guy keep getting gigs is a mystery to me. Neither are funny and they just plain suck.
Trump & Epstein’s “relationship” was when citizen Trump banned Epstein from Mara Largo.
Mark
The Brits? It was filmed entirely in the U.S.
